Y/n POV
My name is Y/n Y/L/N and I live in the country side of Tulsa, Oklahoma. I was out walking with my basket of corn and horse whenever I smelled smoke. I followed the scent to an old church, the one my younger sister and her class went to. "Shit," I breathed out before dropping my basket and making sure my horse stayed before running over to the class that had gotten out. "Dolly! Where's Dolly?!" I exclaimed as the teacher pointed at the burning church. I slapped a hand over my mouth and let out a choked sob. "They're still alive, hear 'em screaming?" The teacher asked. I quickly ran over to the boarded up windows but before I even got there I saw a boy a few years younger than me, run up to the window and help me. Whenever we were able to get the windows down, he jumped in with his friend not allowing me to go with them. Since, I was near the window, I took of my cowgirl hat and put it over my mouth and nose, trying to block out the smoke. Another boy, more around my age came up and looked like he was about to help before he looked me up and down, "Why hello there, doll." "Don't call me 'doll', now help before I kick you with my boot where the sun don't shine." I snapped. "Oooh, feisty, just how I like em." He smirked but helped his friends out. The last kid that was taken out was my sister, Dolly. I smiled and immediately picked her up, "Your okay, right?" I asked. She let out a bad cough then shook her head no. My smile dropped, "Let's get you to the hospital then." She nodded and i picked her up. I walked over to the younger boy that wasn't being carried off on a stretcher and said, "Hey, I'm Y/n, what's your name?" "Ponyboy." He smiled. "Well, you need to get driven to the hospital?" I asked. "Please." He said. "No problem!" Thankfully, I had left my car there so I could come back and pick up Dolly. It was old and busted but still worked, my family wasn't rich, we were pretty poor, but I wouldn't have it any other way. We made it to the hospital and I dropped off Dolly, unfortunately I wasn't allowed in her room yet. A few people were giving me weird stares, guess they weren't used to us country folk and our outfits. I heard the door open and a boy my age walked in. He had a good amount of muscle and his raven hair and greenish-grey eyes just made him even more attractive. "Pony," he sighed. "Hey, Steve." Pony replied, sounding almost disappointed. "You gave us a good scare there, Pony, please don't go running off like that again." Steve said. His attitude immediately changed into flirty whenever he saw me though, "Well who is this pretty little broad?"
Steve POV
"The names, Y/n, Y/n Y/L/N." She smiled and stood up. Damn was she hot, the way her e/c eyes scanned over me whenever I talked and her cowgirl outfit just made her look so damn good. "What are you doing here with Pony?" I asked. "My sister was in the fire and he saved her so I offered him a ride." She smiled. Every time she smiled it made her cheeks and lips look so kissable. I could feel my face start to heat up. "Wanna talk outside?" I asked. She nodded and Pony winked at me before we left. We took a while to get to know each other and she was so interesting, she lived in the country and if she lived here she would be considered a Greaser like me. I also loved watching how happy she would get whenever I talked about cars, she easily noticed that it was my passion, and that I lived for chocolate cake. She laughed at that and my heart melted. "Hey, Y/n." I asked and she gave me her full attention, "I was wondering if maybe you'd like to go in a date with me?" Her smile widened and she immediately said yes. I hugged her in happiness. "Can we go to my farm? I can show you all about horses, and the sunsets are so pretty!" She smiled in happiness. "Of course! Always wanted to see the country."
Time skip (because life is hard and I need some chocolate cake right now)
Still Steve's POV
I came at around noon so I could learn about horses before watching the sun set. Y/n was wearing her usual cowgirl outfit and smiled when she saw me. "Steve!" She exclaimed and tackled me into a hug. "Come on!" She beckoned and I ran after her to the stables. A nice looking horse that was white with a few splotches if black here and there came up to me, Y/n by it's side. "This is Cow." She smiled. (Just roll with it, I'm SO original with names) "Cow?" I laughed. She playfully slapped my arm but laughed with me. "Okay, so, this is the saddle pad." She explained pointing to a pad under the saddle. (I don't know which order is goes in, so sorry about that!) Then she continued to explain the cinch, latigo, bridle, bit, and reins. It was so hard to focus though with her, because the way her eyes lit up when she walked about it made me just want to stare at them forever. "So," she concluded, "You take Sydney over there and we'll ride around a bit." She pointed to a black horse with a black mane and forelock. "Okay." I said, slightly nervous. Turns out, I was a natural and soon riding with Y/n very easily. "Wow! Look at you, cowboy!" She complimented. I blushed and said, "Well your a good teacher." "Come on, I know a good place to watch the sunset." She raced off to the top of a hill on her farm. I stopped Sydney so I was close to Y/n and the sunset was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen in my life, other than Y/n of course. As we watched I sneakily grabbed her hand and we watched until the sun went down. It was the best day of my life, leading to the happiest years of my life, Y/n with me forever.
