"I whooped your sisters ass and was disrespectful to your mom. Why do you keep trying with me Zion?" Lyric asked over the phone.
"I don't know. I just can't seem to stay away from you. I'm sorry for what happened."
"Why are you apologizing? I should be apologizing, but I'm not sorry..." Lyric kinda lied.
"Because, you told me you didn't want to meet my moms and I should have respected that. You should have met them when YOU were ready and not when I was ready for you to. That was my bad."
"Well 'you're bad' got your mom disrespected, and your sisters ass whooped." Lyric was just an asshole.
"And your right." There was a long pause. "Lyric, you clearly see that I'm trying. Why do you keep pushing me away?"
"Why do you keep pulling me back. Why won't you just let me go?"
"I don't even know why honestly. There's just something about you that I just can't seem to shake."
"Even after I disrespected your mom and whooped your sister." Lyric kept bringing that situation up hoping he would realize that he made a mistake and that she wasn't worth fighting for. It wasn't going so well.
"I just want you to apologize." Zion said and Lyric laughed.
"Why would I do that? Was I in the wrong? I didn't come at your mom on no disrespectful shit first. That all came from her side. I just reciprocated it. And your sister, I may have given her a fake smile but I did that for you. Your sister jumped in on what me and your mother had going on." Lyric didn't quite understand that whole "imma ride for my momma regardless" because she didn't have that with her mother. So Lyric didn't see it as defending, she saw it as more so, 'I don't like her either so let's tag team her mom' "I feel as if I deserve an apology from them as well. Your sister did throw a shoe at me." Lyric rolled her eyes. She was really mad about that.
"And your right, you do, I'll be sure to talk to them about it. I just really think that we needa get all this shit up in the air." Lyric rolled her eyes. She didn't want to do any of this. But she did really like Zion.
"I don't think we should be around each other right now." There was a long pause on Zion's end. Lyric had to look at her phone to see if he hung up, only to find he was still on the phone.
"Why?" Zion asked before Lyric had to say hello.
"Because you want something that I'm not willing to give you, that I really can't give you."
"And what is that?"
"Love, a relationship, commitment. I can't do that. I'm not willing to do that." Zion was so tired of Lyric saying the same thing.
You would think he would stop trying, nope. He's very consistent when it's something he wants.
However this time, he wasn't fighting anymore.
"Okay if that's what you want." Lyric wasn't expecting that, but she was happy to know that they could finally get on with their lives.
"Okay then" Lyric smiled. She was happy that he was finally letting her go.
"Bye Lyric." Lyric hung up the phone all smiles.

"Did you finally break things off with that girl." Alisha spat. Zion was sitting at the kitchen table waiting for his mom to get done cooking so he could take a plate home.
"She broke things off with me but... yea, I finally let her go." Zion didn't want to but he was tired of fighting for something that was clearly one sided.
He's young anyways, he could have any woman he wanted yet here he is chasing after a woman who didn't want to be chased. He was over that.
"Okay good. You know, I invited Kae'ja over to dinner."
"How she doesn't even live down here."
"She came down to visit her mom. I ran into her at the store and invited her over for dinner."
"Mom, why do you keep trying to force me and this girl to be together. I don't want her."
"What happened to, 'mother knows best'. Trust me Zion, she's the one for you. I just don't know why you haven't accepted it yet." Zion rolled his eyes. He was over his mom putting her 2 senses into his love life. He didn't want Kae'ja and his mother needed to accept that.
"Well you invited her over here for no reason because I was only taking a plate to go."
"Uh, excuse me? You're staying here to eat with all of us." Alisha shut everything Zion was about to say down. At this point he didn't have a choice.
"Hey son." Zion's father walked into the kitchen. "What's this I hear about your girlfriend disrespecting your mom and fighting your sister?" Zain honestly didn't care. He knew how his wife could be so that wasn't really a surprise to him.
"She's not my girlfriend, pops. She was just a friend."
"Who he should not be seeing anymore." Alisha added her 2 sense... again.
"Come on son we needa talk business." Zion followed his father out of the kitchen and into his office.
"So what's going on with the shipments?"
"They're doing fine pops, I know what I'm doing man."
"I know you know what you're doing but I just have to make sure. It seems as if your head is somewhere else."
"My head is just fine."
"Okay, how's Ej doing?" Ej was Zion's best friend, damn near his brother.
"He's cool. Making sure the shipments are good." If Zion was slacking a little bit Ej would pick it up.
Zion walked out of his dads office and bumped into his sister. They haven't spoken to each other since the incident.
Her eye swelling was going down but she was still pissed. That what she gets for sticking up for her mom knowing her mom was wrong for coming at that girl like that. And for throwing a shoe at her
"I'm really sorry sis." Zion apologized.
"Well I can't say it's okay because it's not... but I guess I'll just have to get over it."
"I guess you won't be throwing another shoe." Zion chuckled. He was making a joke out of the situation but Zaniah didn't think it was funny at all. She pushed Zion and walked away. 'Next time imma just mind my business' she thought as she walked away.
Knock knock
Zion went to go answer the door and was greeted with his fine ass ex... fuck buddy.
"Hey baby, missed me?" Kae'ja smiles at Zion. He was still so fine to her.
"Not at all" Zion said boldly.
"Yea yea whatever, I know you did. Who this bitch my mom telling me about that you've been seen with all around town."
"Yo watch your mouth Kae."
"Why I gotta watch my mouth? That what she is isn't she? A bitch. And apparently a hoe to, based on what your momma been telling me."
Zion sighed in frustration. He was really over his mom telling Lyrics business or throwing it back in her face. He can't tell her nothing anymore.
"She ain't no hoe, and imma really need you to watch yo mouth. You have no reason to even be talking about her." Zion defended Lyric.
"Okay Zion." Kae'ja shrugged. "Whatever you say. I won't talk about the hoe no more." She threw one last dig at Lyric before walking into the kitchen.
'This is going to be a long ass night' Zion thought.
