When the Sun Sets

Naging busy na ako sa sumusunod na araw. I haven't heard from Air and it's been a week since we went out and he paid. The next date he was talking about never came and I was kind of glad because I didn't have to see him anymore. I am also very busy because I have a lot of paintings and drawings to do and other visual forms.

Naubusan na nga ako ng materials kaya kailangan ko pang bumili mamaya. Alam ko naman kung bakit maraming pinapagawa ang prof. Mabilis lang ang lumipas ang panahon at magugulat na lang kami na October na. We'll have sembreak next month so I understand why the profs are slapping us with requirements I couldn't understand.

Pagod akong lumabas sa classroom at muntikan ng mabangga ang dibdib ng isang estudyante. Buti na lang ay napaatras ako. I irritatedly looked up and met the gaze of the guy who just came in to my thoughts a moment ago.

"Anong ginagawa mo dito?" I didn't bother asking how he knew where I was.

Pero bahagya akong nagulat na pumunta siya dito. I kind of thought that he forgot about the next date he was talking about and I didn't want to ask him about that anymore. He also didn't text me and we didn't see each other so I didn't bother.

Tiningnan niya ang likod ko kaya napalingon din ako. It was just my classmates ranting about the projects we needed to do.

"Anong tinitingnan mo diyan?" nakataas ang isang kilay na tanong ko.

Agad bumalik ang tingin niya sa akin. "Wala. Are you free today? I think you forgot that you owe me a date." he casually said with a small smile.

He placed both of his hands in his pockets looking good on his uniform like it was designed just for him. I mentally sighed. Their group stood up when it comes to uniforms. It's the same for their department but when it's them who wears it, it looks great. It looks expensive.

"I do?" kunyari ay gulat kong tanong.

He must have noticed the sarcasm in my voice, so he scrunched his nose, which made me laugh.

"I just got busy because I was trying to finish all my requirements before this date. Kinalimutan mo na pala..." ngumuso ako sa sinabi niya.

"Would it make you feel better if I said I didn't forget it and thought about it day and night? That I didn't get to sleep while I was waiting for your message?" I asked in a teasing tone.

Umirap siya kaya mas lalo akong natawa!

"Lolokohin mo pa ako!" may bahid na reklamo sa tono niya.

I smirked. "Buti alam mo."

"So are you available?" I raised a brow. "Today, for the date." mabilis niyang dagdag.

Gusto ko ulit tumawa pero pinigilan ko ang sarili ko at umiling. "Nope, I have to buy my art materials. Naubusan na kasi ako. Maybe next time when I'm not busy." I answered dismissively.

I was planning to walk away already when he spoke again. "Then I'll go with you. That can be our date. After buying your materials maybe you can get me dinner?" ngumiti siya.

My brows shot up because I didn't expect him to say that. "Oh, are you sure you're fine with that kind of date?"

Tumango siya. "And the materials might be heavy so I can carry them for you. I'm a gentleman right?" kumindat siya.

Ngumuso ako para pigilan ang ngiti. Narinig ko ang bulong bulongan sa likod kaya liningon ko iyon at nakita ko ang mga kaklase ko na sa direksyon na namin nakatingin.

They must have seen Air winked.

"Hi Air!" bati nila at kumaway pa na para bang personal nila na kakilala.
