Chapter 7- Rude Awakenings

I stand proudly next to Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates as he has just been crowned King of the Pirates. I run over to him and jump into a hug.

"I am so proud of you, little monkey. I knew you could do it!" His grin mirrors my own.

"What are your first words as the King of the Pirates?"

"BARK!" I furrow my eyebrows in confusion, "What did you say, Luffy?"

Luffy opens his mouth again and the same sound comes out, "BARK!"

"Um, did you hit your head? How are you feeling?" Luffy replies by licking my cheek.

I open my sleepy eyes and the sunshine hitting me, makes me close them again. I push away the source that is making my face wet, "Thunder, its too early..." I yawn and stroke the grey wolf when my eyes have accepted defeat to waking up. He pants excitedly and I giggle. "Are you hungry, boy?" I go to stand up but something heavy wrapped around my waist keeps me from doing so.

I look down to see muscular arms wrapped around my waist and a green haired man resting his head on mine. I try to move quietly but he wraps his arms closer and nuzzles his head into the crook of my neck. My breath hitches by his actions and I smile at how adorable this swordsman can be.

"Zoro." I shake him gently and he stirred. "Zoro, wake up." His hold gets even tighter as he doesn't want to wake up. "Please Zoro, Thunder is hungry."

"Five more minutes." His head drops from my head to my chest where he continues sleeping. Thunder whines with hunger and I sigh, not wanting to wake him from his sleep. "I know, I know." I say to Thunder, "Give me a minute to wake him up." I turn back to Zoro to see that he had drifted back to sleep, I place my hand on his cheek and whisper once more. "Mihawk is here to fight you again." His eyes snap open in an instant and they glare at me once he sees my cheeky smile.

"I knew that would work." I laugh.

"I wouldn't mind waking up like this every day." Zoro places one of his hands over mine that is still on his cheek, whilst his other arm is still wrapped around my waist and holding me close.

Our eyes meet and close in union and our lips graze over each others. "BARK!" We jump away at the sudden change in sound and we send dirty looks to Thunder who cowers in the corner.

I sigh and stand up, "Come on then, Thunder." I look back to Zoro to see him still sitting down in the same position we left him in. Snap out of it, Sky. With one arm holding Thunder, we make our way onto the deck and into the kitchen.

I open the fridge and look for anything because that's what Thunder would eat, anything. My thoughts cloud my brain and I give Thunder some meat and I grab a pear for myself. There's a reason as to why Zoro and I havn't kissed. I bite into the pear. Firstly, he's Luffy's firstmate. I take another bite. Secondly, you don't want to make anything awkward. The tempo of me biting the apple speeds up the angrier I get. And thirdly, it just wouldn't work! Not after what I did to-

"Sky?" I jump in fright and land on my butt next to Thunder who is still eating. I look at the Straw Hat Pirates and they look back at me. I scan the room for Zoro but can't find him between the worried glances I am receiving.

"Are you ok?" Nami asks.

"Um yeah, why wouldn't I be?"

"You looked lost in your own thoughts." Robin studies me.

"Honestly, I am fine." I go to stand up but Sanji runs over to me and extends his hand.

"Sweet Sky, how did you sleep? I hope you only dreamt of me." I take his hand and stand up. I mutter a low 'thanks' and ignore the things he is saying about us running away together.

"There's supposed to be an island close to where we are now according to the log post." Nami says, trying to change the subject. I go and sit down next to Luffy who is shovelling food into his mouth.

"Grweaft!" He cheers, earning him a hit from Nami due to his 'manners'.

The door to the kitchen opens and Zoro walks into the room.

"Where have you been? Nami and Robin were hungry but they didn't want to start without you!" Sanji growls at Zoro.

"Shut up, stupid cook." Zoro replies and sits next to Chopper and across from me.

"Don't tell me to shut up, you moss head." Sanji barks at Zoro who is ignoring him. I feel a set of eyes on me and I look up to see Zoro looking at me. As soon as I look at him, he blushes slightly and looks away.

"Are you ignoring me, shitty swordsman?" When no reply came, Sanji got angrier at Zoro. Thunder places his head on my lap and barked happily.

"I'm full!" Chopper translates. Thunder stands up and barks at me once more. "Follow me!" Chopper says. I leave the room just as Zoro decides to reply to Sanji's comments, only making Sanji more angry than he already was.

My eyes follow the horizon and I grin when I spot what Thunder wanted me to see. "AN ISLAND!" Luffy yells from beside me and laughs with joy.

"Listen everyone," Says Nami, handing some money out to everyone, "Meet here in 3 hours as the log post for this island only takes a few hours to set. Anyone late will be charged." She smiles a devilish grin and make a mental note to myself, reminding Thunder and I not to be late as Nami had already taken all our money.

"Where first?" I ask Thunder, as the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates thin out across the harbour. I smile at him when I see the bar- yes!

"No dogs allowed in here." A man says in the bar with a frown and he looks at Thunder.

"This is a wolf, go back to school." I ignore what he says next and order myself a drink.

"Have you heard about who's in this island?" I hear a sentence from someone's conversation and it catches my interest.

"Yes, Fire Fist Ace!" The man shrieks in horror. My eyes widen, "Shush, don't go shouting that name out!" I jump off the barstool and walk towards the men with Thunder following my every move.

"Fire Fist Ace, did you say?" I say, hiding my face behind my hair.

"Yes, I heard he was spotted in this bar about an hour ago." The man shrieks again.

I laugh with joy and look at the man. When my mismatched eyes fall on his, he jumps backwards and leaps off his chair.

"No, no, you're Wild D. Sky!" He screams and points at me. When his gaze falls on Thunder he screams louder, "And Thunder the Savage Warrior."

"The one and only," I cheekily say, "Thanks for the details boys." I blow a kiss at them, and laugh when they yell with fright. On my way out I grab a bottle of sake and run down the street looking for him. Revenge is going to be sweet...
