Bora reached out her hand to turn off the phone alarm that had awakened her from a strange dream where she was in a garden filled with seven different types of flowers. Each blossom was larger than normal, almost as if she were Alice in Wonderland. If that wasn’t odd enough, she felt as though each type of flower had a distinct personality…very distinct and somehow familiar personalities.
"Who ever decided that university should start so early should have been throat punched," she muttered to herself as she dragged her tired body out of bed. Walking to the bathroom, she turned on the lights and went to stand in front of her mirror. 'God I look exactly how I feel, shitty as hell' she thought. Stripping out of her pajamas, she turned on the shower as hot as she could handle. After a semi-long hot shower, the young woman threw on some black leggings and a black cropped sweater. Slipping on some black sandals, she stopped in front of the mirror that hung by the front door, quickly throwing her waist length, black and purple ombre hair into a cute messy bun. She grabbed her keys and back pack and headed out the door.
Her best friend yelled her name out from the front window of a crimson Hyundai hybrid as she waited for Bora to finish locking her front door.
"Hey Rose, ready to get this day over with?" Bora asked, sliding into the front passenger seat.
"Oh my God, yes I am! It's your birthday and I'm taking you out tonight!" Rose replied, giggling.
"Crap, I honestly forgot that today was my birthday!" the younger girl said, smacking her forehead.
"How the hell did you forget that it's your birthday? You're supposed to get your soulmark today!" Rose yelled as she pulled out of the driveway.
Sighing, Bora leaned her head against the window. "I didn't sleep too well last night. Weird dreams," she told her best friend with a sigh.
"Okay, well I'm taking you out tonight. I got two tickets to see the k-pop group BTS, so we’re going to go and you're going to have fun,” she ordered.
She just hummed in response, nodding her head. Little did she know that tonight would bring back painful memories from my past that she thought she had left behind in Busan.
BORA POV
Classes went by in a flash for Bora and soon she was heading back home to get ready for her night out with Rose. Her whole body was almost vibrating with excitement and nerves at the same time, like something huge was going to happen. Something began emitting a mild burning sensation down the side of her hip and thigh.
"Rose! I think I just got my soulmate mark!" she squealed. Her best friend turned slowly around to face her from Bora’s closet, where she was picking out her friend’s outfit for the concert tonight.
"Holy crap! Where? Let me see it!" She exclaimed excitedly, rubbing the flaming heart on her inner left elbow.
Bora pointed to her right hip and down her leg, slowly pulling back the opening of the robe she had put on after her shower earlier, keeping her eyes on Rose to see her reaction first, because for some reason the younger woman was suddenly nervous to see it. That made no sense to her because she had been looking forward to this day for years....since before she had been abandoned.
Rose was quiet for a few moments before she spoke. "Bora, honey...it's beautiful...but why are there seven different flowers?” she asked, confused.
"What do you mean seven flowers?" Bora asked with a puzzled expression.
Rose looked her dead in the eyes and said, “it must mean you have seven soulmates, I think. It's rare but not uncommon."
Bora looked down at her leg, the most beautiful and eccentric mark running from the top of her hip and down her thigh. She had never seen a mark like it before. It was the flowers from her dream!
Seven different flowers decorated the mark, all dull with slight colors to them, meaning her soulmates must be close but far away at the same time. The closer you got to them, the brighter the colors got until you and your soulmate sealed the bond between you, then the color would remain permanent. The only real question on her mind was how the hell was she supposed to find seven of them when it was hard enough finding just one? Letting out a small sigh, she looked back up at Rose.
"We should finish getting ready if we don't want to miss this thing you're taking me to,” Bora murmured. Delicately, she traced the shapes of a lily, sunflower, gladiolus, tulip, dahlia, and bird of paradise, plus the cherry blossoms that connected them all. Rose turned back to the closet and grabbed the last of the younger woman’s outfits, placing it on her bed.
“This ‘thing’ I'm taking you to is a BTS concert. Ever heard of them, or do you live under a rock?" She huffed.
Bora just shrugged, slipped off her robe, and grabbed the black dress Rose had picked out for her. She pulled it over her body and let out a small sigh. Rose has great taste in clothes...but this was risque for the young woman. Bora had never been confident in her body and this dress hugged every curve, ending just below her ass, making her feel even more aware of her body.
"I've heard some of their music but never watched any of their music videos,” Bora replied, sitting down on her bed as she pulled up the thigh high black suede boots the older woman had paired with the dress.
"Just wait Princess, after tonight you will become a member of ARMY. I just have a feeling that something good will happen tonight!” Rose insisted, beaming.
