elizabeth smiled at her phone as she received johnny's texts.
even after being with him for over five months, she still hadn't gotten used to receive a text every morning. having their little morning conversations were one of her favourite things. she looked forward to it every time she woke up. even they only had two minutes, they would still find time to text each other good morning.
as she made her way down to the kitchen, she was met with absolute silence. no playful bantering from her brothers as they made themselves breakfast, and no sight of the somehow always stressed face of her mother.
she loved mornings like this. sitting in the kitchen alone while her family was asleep upstairs. it gave her a rare moment of silence.
just as she had poured herself a glass of apple juice, her phone dinged again, signifying that she had gotten a message.
