Lily's POV:
I can't believe it, it's him! I had half a mind to run over and hug him but I still wasn't fully sure it was him. but when he turned back to look at me, he smiled. It was him. I couldn't control myself I ran up and hugged him, I almost knocked him over, he seemed pretty happy to see me too. he tried to pull away but I just held him there.
"Hey lily,I missed you too but can I please have a moment to breathe"
I let him go, he let out a big gasp, maybe I was holding him too tight but I meant every squeeze. He regained his balanced ,shifting his body back into place. He smiled. Kidd was never one to smile often but when he did it was pretty special.
"It's nice to see you again! You remember me I take it?"
Kidd glanced down at the items in my hands. His eyes seemed to shift between the mochi container and the bag of frozen microwave nuggets. Kidd placed a hand on his hip and looked back at me
"You gonna eat those raw I take it?"
I smile at him. He giggles.
"So their still here I take it?"
"Of course they are!'
That was kind of a lie. Some of the people in our class are not their anymore well at least not ones Kidd would care about, at least I think he wouldn't. He takes a thankful sigh.
"So what are you doing back here?"
I ask, it's been quite a while ,it doesn't make sense that he would just come back out of the blue.
Kidd scratches the back of his neck.
"It's complicated..we can talk about it with the others"
I shake my head, even after all this time I still feel like he's still keeping secrets from me. I notice around his neck dangles a pocket watch. I reach my hand out and poke the glass that incases the watch with my finger.
"Don't you thinks that's a little out of date?" Doesn't he have a phone to tell the time with? Or does he just prefer the convenience of having something right when he needs it.
"I just like remembering the time"
He stares at the pocket watch with a sad little smile.
"What so you don't end up in a time loop?" I joke. He doesn't respond.
"Speaking of time I should probably go back, my mom's probably looking for me" I completely forgot about being back home before Billy's leaves.
"Oh yeah! I should go too, it was so good to see you kidd! I'll see you at school?"
"Yeah! See ya lily!"
Kidd turned and ran back away to the other side of the grocery store. I ran over to the register and paid for my groceries. By the time I got home I just saw billy leaving.
"Hey bill!" I ran up to my brother and handed him the nuggets and mochi.
"The nuggets are for nugget btw"
He smiled at me.
"I couldn't have guessed"
I give bill a little side hug.
"Be careful! That side of the neighborhood can be pretty dangerous"
"Yeah ,yeah I know"
"By the way what took you so long?"
For a few seconds I debate what I'm gonna say.
"Oh yeah, I just got a little lost is all".
Nugget POV: (btw nugget also thinks in the third person so yeah-)
I dangled the little kitty toy above my lovely little kitty's head.
"Go get it tenders! Attack it like it's one your enemys!"
Even though tenders has been nuggets cat for 7 years he still doesn't know how to attack his enemys like nugget does. So nugget likes to teach him to attack the mouse on a rope. Nugget wanted to use a real mouse but mom wouldn't let him
But yet the little kitty tenders does nothing. Nothing to hurt the toy, or even touch it for that matter. He just stares at it with his big cute but non murderous eyes. Maybe it's hopeless and he doesn't want to murder people, maybe nugget should just let him be him, people don't like when nuggets himself but nugget hopes that tenders does not feel that type of sadness ever in the 5-7 years he has left.
"Mhm maybe we're done with mouse playtime for now."
Nugget puts away the toy and grabs the soft kitty. Nugget gives him a little kiss on the head then puts him in his cat bed, made entirely of old nugget box's. Nugget suddenly hears a knock on the door. He goes to cheek through the peep hole in the door. He saw nuggets friend Billy standing at the door.
"Nugget! It's me let me in!"
Nugget smiles and opens the door
"Billy!"
Nugget hugs Billy's.
"Why are you always so exited to see me? I mean I like seeing you too, but I see you everyday"
Nugget stoped and thinked about it. After nuggets other friend Kidd left he became kinda lonely even with Billy there. That was strange because he didn't feel lonely before Kidd and billy but after it was like the void that wasn't even there before was filled and when they left it was a new hole tore nugget apart. Even then though it was different with kidd. Nugget and Billy are almost as different as can be but they still got along well. But Kidd, Kidd was like him. Shockingly killing a bunch of classmates together in another timeline can really bring people together.
"Oh yeah nugget just misses you easily, no big deal."
Billy gives nugget a sad look.
"What did I tell you about when you feel that way? You tell me and I'll be there to keep you company."
Nugget shifts his body uncomfortably. Nugget doesn't like to talk about feeling.
"Yeah but you can't always be with nugget. The pretty lily still needs you."
Billy sighs
"Yeah but I still like to know when you feel that way."
Nugget puffs his cheeks and turns his head.
"Sigh.. alright we can be done talking about it."
Nugget turns his head back to Billy and smiles. Billy shakes his head.
"Come on you wanna play monstermon with me or what?" Nugget nods his head.
"Yes!"
