Two days later (12:35 am)
The sound of the door creak echoed as Siddharth entered the room. The room was pitch dark and even the whole house was silent. Ever since the day she left him, the house has been deserted and he never comes home. He didn't even bother to turn on the lights in the room as he was too tired to do anything. He slowly walked toward the right side of the bed and sat on the floor taking the support of the bed as he laid his head on the mattress. He took a sip from the beer bottle that he was holding in his hand for a very long time and sighed. He closed his eyes and her smiling face flashed in his mind. Automatically, a small smile came to his face as he drifted into his dream world.
(2:00 am)
He was still sleeping on the floor keeping his head on her bed where she used to sleep and a peaceful smile adorned his face but suddenly, his smile turned into a frown. He started mumbling in his sleep.
"Avneet! Where are you? Please come back, love... Avneet!!"
He shouted and his eyes shot open and looked around like a maniac calling Avneet's name. There was only darkness in the room as well as in his life too. Sweat filled his forehead as he looked at the empty room. But when no one responded to his shouts then the realization struck him that he was dreaming about her and she is not here.
"Avneet!" he whispered as swallowed hard refusing his heart's screams which were saying the only "cry"
"It is all because of you. Because you, my Avneet! left me, she is here, not in my life, not in my house, not in front of my eyes, nowhere. Just because of you I can't see her angelic face which soothes my soul, I can't hear her sweet melodic voice that calms me down. Because of you, my Avneet cried you made her cry How dare you? You fucking hurt her that's why she is not here with me. Why can't you control your fucking anger?" he looked at his reflection in the mirror and a seething resentment arose in his heart. He slammed the beer bottle hard on the mirror shattering it into tiny pieces.
His whole face turned red as he took the glass pieces into his hands and let them pierce his skin.
His brows puckered and his lips trembled as the blood gushed out.
"𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐧𝐚?" her vulnerable voice echoed in his head and he immediately relaxed his clenched fist.
He placed his hand on the bed and got up taking its support. He searched his room with his trembling legs.
"Where's my phone? " he mumbled and slid his hand into his back pocket and sighed. He dialled her number and called her numerous times but she didn't pick it up. Panic struck him and his breath hitched thinking that something happened to her or she is not fine. He was too drunk to realize that it was midnight and she must be sleeping. He repeatedly phoned her and sent her hundreds of messages and ended up on the dark road heading towards Avan's apartment where she is living for now. He was still trying to call her.
"Pick up the phone damn it! " he growled speeding up his car.
He again called her but she didn't pick up. He threw his back seat in anger. At this point, he didn't know which emotion was overwhelming him his anger or care but whatever it was, he didn't seem to fit in with it. His eyelids were dropping and his head was pounding. He was going to close his eyes when a ring brought him back to reality. He halted the car and hurriedly picked up the phone.
"Did you get hurt? Are you alright? What happened? why weren't you picking up my phone? Avneet, why are you not saying anything? Did that Avan do anything? Please Avneet for God's sake, say something my heart is sinking in my chest. "
His rumbling was stopped by a shaking voice.
"Sidd...harth I am fine" her voice came out like a whisper but it was enough to calm him down.
He was listening to her voice after two weeks and those two weeks were like centuries in hell for him."Siddharth what happened are you there?"
He hummed in response as he listened to her voice closing his eyes.
"Why did you call me? " her voice sounded a bit harsh.
"Please come back to me" he pleaded in a vulnerable voice and an intake of a deep breath was heard from the other side of the phone.
"Siddharth did you again have an attack? " her voice held a hope that he would say no but she knew the truth. He was silent for a minute. He tapped his fingers on the steering wheel but groaned
"Damn it! " he said to himself while looking at his hand.
"Siddharth did you again hurt yourself? Siddharth? "
"No, I promise I didn't, I just don't realize when glass pierced my hand" Avneet gasped.
"That's the same thing. When will you stop your nonsense? How can you ask me to come back? When you don't even know how to control your damn anger. That's the reason we are not together. I don't want to get hurt again."
"I can never hurt you Avneet... You know that"
"But you did and you still are hurting me! Could you stop being mad at every single thing that exists in this world? " she screamed into the phone.
"I-AM-NOT-ANGRY! I was just worried for you" he gritted his teeth and his knuckles turned white from the force that was putting on the steering wheel.
"I can hear in your voice how calm you are. Where are you Siddharth? I can hear vehicles passing by"
"You know what Avneet today I am so happy that I hear your angelic voice. I wish I could see your face. You look the cutest when you get angry" he completely went off track.
"What? Siddharth I am hanging up. "
"Don't you dare to hang up on me! I wanna hear your voice"
"Siddharth are you drunk? Where are you?" she was surprised that his tone changed from angry to sweet.
"No, I am not drunk. How will I save you from any trouble if I am drunk? How can I make such an impulsive move?" his voice raised with each word
"You are drunk! And you can't just get angry at yourself at least spare yourself. Siddharth, where are you? Tell me. " There was concern in her voice mixed with frustration.
"You are right! How can I get angry? I SHOULD NOT" he gritted his teeth.
"But I promise! I promise I will make everything ri..." and with that, his eyes closed and he blacked out.
"Siddharth! Hello Siddharth"
But he didn't make a reply. His car was standing in the middle of the highway. And he slept peacefully after hearing her voice.
