We yearn for the past, for the person we used to know, and the old way of living. You miss your previous way of life because you've grown so used to it that you've become attached to it. You also feel attached to your old way of life because you believe you are unprepared for the new opportunities or way of life that are provided to you, making you feel scared and unprepared when they show themselves. Missing your previous way of life could also be a trauma response. Perhaps when you were younger, you were subjected to many false promises and betrayals. Perhaps your parents/people lied and manipulated you often to gain control over you, and as a result, you fear change and the conclusion of your decision-making, so you end up overthinking things and fearing the outcome. It okay to feel uncomfortable for changes you are a person with feelings after all and everything you feel is valid and important.

~How to overcome fear of change and let go of attachment?~

⚜️ Meditate. Meditation helps you clear your mind from negative thinking and helps get rid of stress.

⚜️ Organize. Organizing your home/space, time, and schedule can also help you relax and stop overthinking.

⚜️ Change must be accepted. Remember that everything must change for the better. If you look at it from a different viewpoint, change isn't all that bad. Change makes you a better, wiser person. Change teaches you more about yourself and your life. Learning about yourself and life can help you live your life to your advantage.

⚜️ Experiment with being unsettled. Try something out of character for you, something odd or ridiculous. You may feel nervous or unpleasant at first, but that is the point; do something that makes you uncomfortable. Teach yourself how to relax in the face of discomfort.

⚜️ Let go. Let go of what no longer serves you. Let go of addictions, criticism, and pleasure (pleasure can be both good and negative, so don't get rid of it totally; instead, balance it. Sometimes pleasure can evolve into an addiction. To add to that, pleasure don't last long), don't seek happiness that won't last long, and let go of people who don't serve you.

Initially, adjustment may appear difficult. Allow yourself time to think things through before making a choice. Breathe, centre yourself, and repeat useful affirmations.
Give yourself an area where you can be alone; don't attempt to control the situation because doing so would exacerbate it; instead, let things fall into place on its own. When it comes to adjusting, the only thing you need to do is locate your inner peace through meditation, writing, breath work, painting, and creation. Finding peace in difficult situations will also aid in your adjustment journey.
