It was an unusually cold day in the Devildom. Rain was pouring from the sky as if the clouds were sobbing non-stop.And yet, there you stood, sitting on a bench. You were completely soaked and freezing, shivering as the rain pelted your skin. Those who resided at the House of Lamentation had all gotten into an argument with each other, which somehow ended with Lucifer blaming you for the chaos. Why? Who knew? Cold, but at least there wasn't any shouting over unnecessary things. Though the Devildom is always dark, and unknown beings lurking in the shadows...Just as your thoughts began to scare you, a voice broke your train of thought and spoke over the loud, thundering rain."MC?"
You jumped at the sudden noise as you were caught off guard.
You turned around to see who called your name and found a white-haired man, another human exchange student, Solomon in front of you.
He then inquired, "Why are you sitting outside in a weather like this? You're completely soaked with water, you know? You can catch a cold if you keep sitting here."
You were a bit surprised to see him here. You were also unsure if you should bother him with your problems so you just avoided the question with a whisper "Nothing..." And asked him instead, "What are you doing here?"
He noticed your attempt to avoid the topic so he didn't pushed you to answer him. "Oh, I was just on my way back from shopping and decided to go past House of Lamentation."
He noticed you shivering, he got quite concerned. He took off his cape and wrapped it around you and sat next to you in that bench, holding his umbrella over both of you. "You shouldn't stay here for long, you'll catch cold if you do." You sighed and said, "I know that. But I don't feel like going in. I like it better in here."
He glanced over you to see that sad and frustrated look on your face. He guessed something was up and he was willing to help and support you however he could.
After a few minutes of silence, he finally spoke, "You know I'm here if you ever need me right? I'll always be there for you whenever you need me. If you ever feel down or exhausted, don't hesitate to come to me. I'll try my best to make you smile, to keep you happy. No matter how mere the problem is, I'll be there to help you. You can count on me. I'm willing to listen to whatever you have to say or share with me. I know something is bothering you right now. You can open up to me if you want to but I won't force you to do so if you're not ready. Just remember, you're an amazing person. I met a lot of people throughout my life but I rarely found one like you. You're special, to me. You have a good heart and a warm, comforting personality. I love everything about you and I wanted you to know that."
After hearing these heart-warming words you couldn't hold back your tears anymore. But there was this smile plastered on your face which just mirrored how you were really feeling right now.
He just wiped your tears and caressed you cheek, giving a kiss on your head in the process.
You told him what actually happened and why you were sitting here like this. He listened to you while you explained your part, sobbing. His comforting presence really calmed you down and his sweet and soothing words lifted your mood.
The rain drops and thunder sounds eventually stopped. The grey clouds faded away, revealing the normal usual sky.
The brothers came out to look for you and found you sitting on the bench with Solomon. They asked you to go inside with them, but you were uncertain. You looked at the white haired man beside you and he gave you a slight nod with a smile, indicating you to go. You and Solomon bid your goodbyes and you went inside with them.
After changing your wet clothes you and the brothers gathered in the common room. Lucifer came up to you, a guilt filled look on his face. He said in a soft voice, "MC, I apologise for blaming you for our argument. I was so annoyed and frustrated that I blamed it all on you. I'm really ashamed of my behaviour. I hope you'll understand my reasons and forgive me for it. We settled our argument in a peaceful way after you dashed out of the house. Again, my apologies for the inconvenience."
Him apologising and understanding that you're not the one to be in blame here made you feel even better. You smiled at him and said, "It's okay. I'm not mad at anyone and I forgive all of you. Just don't argue like this again. I don't like seeing everyone like that."
And just like that, the House of Lamentation went back to how it was as always.
