Carl watched the outside of the window as he leaned against the inside of the car door. He was on his way to meet the rest of the cast for Lolita and he was beyond excited, but he was also tired. Carl had only slept for about two hours last night, he was so excited thinking about all the new people he was going to meet the next day.

The long car ride wasn't helping any. If it weren't for these damn leather seats and the hot summer day, he would be asleep by now. He slowly got more and more irritated when a bead of sweat would drop down his four head or he had to shift his thighs and they would stick to the seats.

The ac was broken and his mom and dad had told him they were going to fix it, but Carl didn't think that would happen any time soon. "I'm glad I chose to wear shorts," carl said trying to break the very awkward silence between him and his mother.

Carl saw his mother's lips quirk up into a quick smile before the smile disappeared almost instantly. He could tell his mom was anxious he thinks the person in the car next to them could tell she was. He wanted to reassure her but he knew it would be a waste of time.

Surprisingly he started to feel sleep overtake him. He wasn't going to fight it, so Carl shifted his body one last time to the point where his legs were folded over each other and laid across the backseat. Not a second layer he was closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep.

"Hey," Lori said gently shaking Carl awake, she was still extremely anxious but she was willing to let Carl do this role as long as he wanted to. Carl was 14 now of course he wasn't a full-grown adult, but 14 is old enough to pick and choose his roles. She must have been lost in her thoughts seeing that now an awake Carl was looking at her like she was crazy.

She must have been staring at him for a while now, so she brushed it off and told Carl they were there. You couldn't even imagine how fast Carl's face lit up, it would have looked like he had gotten all 10 hours of sleep last night if it weren't for his developing eye bags.

They walked up to the door of the director's house and gently knocked. They were greeted by the actor for Carls's pretend-mother, her name is Andrea. Lori taped carls shoulder and said in a whisper "I'm gonna go and do something while you have fun here."

Carl's eyes went wide, his mother has never left him at the meetings before. He found that he liked the freedom, but it also made him nervous. Andrea welcomed Carl in after he said his goodbyes to his mother. Andrea turned out to be quite nice, he thinks they are going to work great together.

They told jokes now and then, but it was starting to feel like he was there for hours. He hasn't even met the actor that is going to be playing a major role alongside himself. Just as he had asked Andrea about the man she had smirked and said in a sarcastic voice "Speak of the devil!" as if she was greeting an old friend.

By the looks of it, she was an old friend. Maybe they worked on movies together? He assumes that he was too young to watch any of them if they did, seeing as he didn't know either of them from any movies or shows. Andrea cleared her throat after a moment of silence. "Carl this is Negan, Negan this is Carl."

Negans eyes caught him and he swore time slowed down. He always knew he was gay and that he could appreciate another guy's beauty. But he had never known that another man, let alone a fifty-something-year-old could make him feel like his legs were made of jello just from eye contact.

Carl wasn't going to be able to survive making this movie if Negan kept looking at him like that. Even if it wasn't on purpose, the man being in his presence was enough to set him off. He wished he could read Negans mind, god that would make things easier right now.

Carl looked just as beautiful as the pictures of him online, and it makes him sick to his stomach. Negan isn't supposed to be thinking of a kid this way. He doesn't even want to think about that right now, so he didn't.

"Hey kid, I heard that you were gonna be playing the major role with me, Dolores, right? Just tell me if It's ever too much for you. Don't want you getting hurt now do we?" Negan had said with a smirk. Carl's mouth opened and closed like a fish as he tried to collect his thoughts.

"Haha yeah that's me, I've been looking forward to seeing you! I had been wanting to hang out with you and get to know you better, sorry if I'm rambling but I thought I wasn't going to be able to catch you in time." Honestly, Carl couldn't believe that he had been able to work up a proper sentence in time without looking like a fool in front of Negan and Andrea.

"I'm gonna be over there if you need me, it was nice to meet you Carl, and you! don't be a bad influence on him." She playfully jabbed at Negans chest. Carl hated the fact he felt jealous after that. But carl still smiled politely and followed Negans to the couch when he had pointed to it as an invitation.

They had talked for another hour, Negan stealing long glances at Carl when he would ramble about whatever and look out the window before returning his eyes to Negans. But soon it was time for everyone to go. Just as Carl was about to walk out the door Negan stopped Carl.

"Hey I don't usually do this with younger co-stars, but seeing as your going to be working with me for a while I might as well give you my number." Negan said as he slid a card into Carl's hand as he said goodbye with a genuine smile on his face.
Carl just smiled as he waved goodbye and ran to his mom's car.

He slid into the car already taking out his phone from his pocket smiling at the phone as he went to contacts. "What's got you so giddy?" Lori asked with a big smile on her face. Carl looked up from his phone and couldn't get a word out before he started giggling. He didn't know if it was from how happy he was, or because he has a little bit of a crush on his older co-star.

Lori smiled gently at her son through the mirror. She started the car and was on her way home. She doesn't know why Carl is so happy, but it turns out she didn't need to worry at all.
