Lost Trails (Zane~chan fanfiction based on @Candi_Writes fanfic "can't be tamed"

Chapter-7

Zane's pov:

It's been two days since we've been held hostage at 'kawaii~chan's' place. She has been treating us...good. Which is what I don't understand. I mean why hold people hostage but treat them like guests? I don't understand her. But she seems sweet...and maybe just a tad bit cute. She seems to be a nice person. cat? being? I don't know what species she is still. Garroths migraine is gone. The potion worked but I doubt it'll work forever. Aph and Vylad are catching Dante up on everything. Garroth's just looking down at the floor with sad eyes. I can't believe my brothers getting so worked up over some guy. I don't see what's so special about someone to make you want to leave your entire life behind. It's pretty enraging to know that your brother picks some random dude over you. It may be true that I don't like him as much, but that does not change the fact that he still left us, left me. I was thinking this when I saw someone walk into the room. Leaving the entire room silent.

"Hey.... how's your headache," She asked my brother.

"It's fine...." He said in a hushed voice.

She saw that he didn't want to talk with them and made no further attempts to. Instead, they sighed and left a tray of food once again for us. "Here..." she said placing it down. "Enjoy". She started walking off before Aph stopped them. 

"Wait."

We all turned to look at Aphmau. What was she thinking about now?

"Well, I was wondering that maybe we should get to know each other...I mean it's not like we're escaping anytime soon" she said with a nervous laugh. That was enough for Kawaii~chan's confused and shocked face to turn into a warm and soft smile. She giggled a bit and sat down calmly in front of us.

"Well...I suppose it's the least I could do for you all..." she said turning to Garroth." But there are some boundaries. If I feel uncomfortable with a question, could I be allowed not to answer it?" she asked quietly. Aphmau smiled at this. "Of course! we don't want to push you or anything". 

"Well in that case ask away."

"Is Kawaii~chan your real name?"

Kawaii~chans eyebrows raised at that. "Well, I see you waste no time to get to the important stuff, I mean you didn't even ask my favorite color or anything," she said trying to faux an offended expression. "But no, it's not...but my real name is known by only those who I truly trust, believe it or not, almost nobody in this town knows my real name" she answered sincerely. That caused me to raise a bit of suspicion. I mean why would you want to have a fake name? What reasons could you possibly have to go to the extremes of lying about your name? While these questions raced around my mind. Vylad asked another question.

"What are you again? and how come we've never heard about your species?"

"Ohhh nice question" she smiled at my younger brother. "Well, I am a meifwa, a hybrid creature between a cat and a human, mostly human though. As for the reasons why we've never been heard before...it probably has to do with the fact that werewolves are much scarier creatures than us" she stated. "I mean think about it, would kids be scared of creatures that are half human and wolf or half human and cat? also we are half cats, we are good at keeping things quiet when we want to" she winked. I asked a question next.

"Why are you treating us so nicely? I mean you say you hold us hostage but treat us as guests, that's something I'm not able to comprehend" I asked a bit impatiently. She looked at me, took a deep breath in, and then dared to roll her eyes at me. "They're called manners," she said with a toothy smile "something I suppose your mother has never taught you," she said her eyes narrowing at me. Aph and Vylad snorted, even Garroth was suppressing a smile. I gritted my teeth, it seemed she was set on annoying me. "Also if you do hate my hospitality so much, don't worry you'll all be out of my fur soon enough" she clipped. We all went silent at that. " I called the authorities, they're coming in a few days to see if it's the real-deal after that, you won't have to worry about seeing my pretty face anymore, you'll have bigger problems to worry about," she said in a cold voice. Everybody frowned, the lively mood that was there earlier died down quickly. I had just had about enough. "Well then! why don't just get it over with? why wait a few more days!"

"cuz believe it or not the world doesn't revolve around me, I know that must be a difficult thing for you to understand, seeing as you've been in a well-off family."

"Why you little-"

"ENOUGH!" screamed garroth

Everyone went silent as garroth fumed. It looked like his migraine was returning, and all the yelling wasn't helping. Kawaii~Chan seemed to notice this. She quietly left the room only to come back with 4-5 potions that looked exactly like the ones garroth drank before to get rid of his headache before. She the quietly whispered to him to only take 2 sips whenever he felt like he had a mild migraine and half a bottle if they were absolutely painful. Without another word she slipped out of the room and locked the door behind her, leaving us all- once again by ourselves.
