Diego and Maurice jumped up from where they were laying and looked around.
"Fuck," Louis yelled. He looked intense, in a way I had never seen before. Clydeth and Maurice started crying and Louis started shaking intensely. I stood up and walked over to Louis and hugged him very tight. He returned the hug.
When I finally let go of him I went over to Clydeth and sat next to her on the couch. She face-planted into my chest and I put my chin on the top of her head. We both started sobbing harder than ever. Louis went and sat back in the corner and Diego walked over to sit with him. We stayed like that until Clydeth and I began to stop crying. My head was pounding and my eyes, burning.
Finally, when the room got deadly quiet. Maurice stood up.
"What the fuck was that back there. How the fuck did they not realize there was a fucking dead body with their fucking organs all ripped the fuck out?"
"You need to stop saying fuck, Maurice," I said irritated. It's probably his favorite word.
"Oh shut up, Gwen. Don't go telling me to watch my mouth when we just saw a fucking dead body in our fucking hotel room."
"Listen," I stood up, "buddy, I'm not sure if you caught on but I'm pretty sure I saw the same thing as you, if you didn't realize that when I was running down the hall screaming my head off and then passed out in a goddamn elevator. So, sorry I don't feel like hearing you say the same word over and over like it's the only the only thing you know how to say."
He glared at me and opened his mouth to say something but that's when Diego spoke up.
"Shut up, both of you. No one wants to hear you two bickering back and forth."
I sat back down and put my arm around Clydeth.
I've known Maurice for about seven years now. We met through Louis. We went to high school together and ended up going to the same college. His full name is Maurice Nova Corentin. He was about 6"2. He had light brown eyes and black hair. He's got a small button type nose and thin fox like eyes. His forehead, a little long, didn't stop him from being very attractive.
I never really considered him my friend, more so just someone who I hung around all the time. I guess we are technically friends though.
Maurice plopped down beside me on the couch and put his head on my shoulder. I felt Diego and Louis looking at us, most likely with confusion. I put my free hand on his hand and he closed his eyes. Despite his annoying qualities, he's a very sweet person. He just has really bad anger issues.
Finally, Clydeth stood up and flattened out the front of her dress. It was blue, made out of a silky type material with a lace lining at the bottom and sleeves. She cleared her throat. "You guys," she looked around at all of us," I really think we need to talk about this. We can't keep sulking in here in silence." Her voice was slightly scratchy, different from her usual hyper feminine and soft voice.
Diego stood up. "I agree. We may have seen that," he hesitated, "thing, but we can't let that destroy us for the rest of our lives."
I couldn't help but admire everything about him. The way his voice sounds, deep but soft. The way his hair slightly falls into his eyes. The way his figure leans slightly to the left. His deep brown eyes, double hooded and always slightly closed. The way his lips are slightly upturned in the corners and how he usually grins as he speaks. He's beautiful. His brown linen shirt was unbuttoned three buttons down and the belt that held up his white dress pants was gone somewhere. His dark brown oxford's were placed in the same corner as Louis was previously sitting, revealing his checkered brown and green socks.
Maurice looked up at him. "What are we supposed to say? I don't fucking understand what you mean by 'talk it out.' We're not a bunch of kindergartners arguing over a fucking toy car. There is a rotting dead body in the fucking hotel room where we were supposed to be sleeping in. Getting dressed in. Bathing in. We're just supposed to talk about how we feel?"
His hand started to shake so I grabbed it and give it a squeeze. He looked back at me and I smiled at him. His face turned slightly pink before he looked away.
"I personally think thats a pretty smart idea. Better than bottling it all up and exploding at the worst possible moment." Louis walked over to where I was laying down earlier and sat down. Clydeth sat down on the floor and Diego sat on the chair he was previously laying in.
"So," I sighed. "I have my own question. What happened after Maurice and I left the room?"
Diego stared into my eyes as he spoke. "A bunch of people heard you guys screaming and came running down the hall. Eventually people made their way to our room and well, saw the thing," he shivered as he added the last part, "and the police were called. They obviously hurried here and I guess an ambulance or something came too because when we were being escorted out of the building, we saw a stretcher carrying you out. Louis and Clydeth obviously freaked out and fought over who would be able to ride with you here. In the end Maurice was the one who got the ride with you. When we got here, me and Maurice practically passed out on the couch."
I couldn't look away from him and so as I spoke, I stuttered, "so, where are we?"
Maurice looked at me. "Some room they put us in. We're at some police station and they said we're to be questioned soon."
I throw my head into my hands and groan. That's when the door all the way across the room that I never noticed opened.
Someone tall and slender stood in the doorway. He had medium brown hair in a mullet that reached his shoulders. He had a sort of upturned nose and wide doe eyes. His eyebrows were thick and very neatly done. He's very handsome in my opinion. He was dressed very casual, not at all how I would assume a cop would dress, not even a detective. He looked very young, maybe in his early twenties. He couldn't be much older than Louis.
He stepped through the doorway and smiled comfortingly. "Hey guys. It's time." Louis nodded understandingly and stood up. I was pretty confused.
"I'll go first you guys. I'll be back eventually." As he started to walk out of the room, the tall guy put his hand on Louis back. I could tell he felt tense from that action.
Diego sat down on the bed and propped himself up on his hands. "Now, we wait."
