"Choose me, Henry."

Chapter 17: A Relationship Is Restored

Burt screwed up and now has lost Henry, Rupert helps Henry, and their relationship is restored. Will they finally confess their feelings or will someone get in the way?

There was a tense silence after Burt's outburst. Rupert gave Burt a death glare as he kept aiming his gun at him, Henry felt his eyes water upon Burt's insult towards him. He turns away from him, his heart shatters like a broken mirror.

"W-wait, Henry...I didn't mean it." Burt tried to apologize but felt something cold against his forehead.

"Get away from him," Rupert said in fury.

"But." Burt squeaked as Victoria, Dave, and the Bukowski twins came into the room.

Calvin and Konrad went over to Burt to arrest him. Burt didn't try to get out of their grip, he just stared at Henry. Calvin and Konrad started to head out but stopped them to look at Henry.

"Henry...please." Burt pleaded desperately. "I didn't mean it..."

Henry glanced at Burt for a moment then he looked away from him, "Goodbye Burt Curtis." he said lowly and dismissively.

Burt's heart broke into a million pieces as the twins took him away.

Victoria and Dave followed them, leaving Rupert and Henry alone in the room.

Rupert put his gun away as he heard a sniffle coming from Henry, he immediately went over to him to try to comfort him, but Henry took a step back from him. "I lost my clan... I lost my home... I lost Burt..." Henry said as he was sobbing. "I can't even keep friends in the Government."

"Oh...Henry." Rupert commented softly as he went over to Henry. This time, Henry didn't react.

"I thought I become selfish and just focus on money, it will be okay for me." Henry continued as he looked at his cybernetic hand. "And look where that landed me."

Henry looked at Rupert who was staring at him, "My selfishness had caused so many people pain and it ruined lives." Henry continued again. "I'm so sorry Rupert. I ruined your life and I didn't even apologize for it."

Rupert blinked in surprise and he put a comforting hand on him, "Oi. I appreciate the apology and I have already forgiven you." he replied gently. "Besides, I need to make an apology to you."

Henry's eyes widened in shock, "You do?" he replied gingerly.

Rupert nodded and before he could say anything to Henry, the building started to collapse because of a bomb exploding. Rupert and Henry quickly ran out of the building just as the helicopter was about to lift off. The General shouted to the boys to get on, but it was too late. Henry got out his rockets and told Rupert to get on. Rupert obeyed as he grabbed hold of him, and then they were off.

However, Henry didn't have enough fuel and he started to lose flight. Luckily, he grabbed the edge of the helicopter. Rupert quickly climbed to the edge and tried to pull Henry up. While Rupert was trying to help Henry up, Henry started to have a panic attack. He remembered a bad memory and he started to panic more. Rupert finally managed to pull Henry up, Henry landed on top of Rupert. Rupert's face was red and Henry would have to feel embarrassed if it wasn't for him panicking.

Rupert noticed Henry was panicking and he quickly sat up to comfort him.

"Oi. Shhhh, it's okay. Breathe in and out." Rupert instructed gently as Dave went over to them to help.

Both of them told Henry to calm down and breathe in and out. Henry did as he was told and he finally calmed down, he was clinging to Rupert's uniform as he sat on his lap. "What happened?" Dave asked in concern.
