"Choose me, Henry."

Chapter 19: Closure

Rupert has talked to the General about letting Henry see Burt, the General agrees unless there's someone to watch over them. Then Burt and Henry have some closure.

Rupert and the General were with Henry talking to him about if he could talk to Burt.

"Henry, are you sure about this?" Galeforce said gingerly.

Henry nodded as Rupert crossed his arms, he convinced the General to let Henry talk to Burt. At first, the General didn't want Henry near Burt because he was afraid that Henry would tell him secrets from the Government. However, Henry assured him he would rather kill himself than betray the Government again. The General and Rupert were now more worried about Henry's mental health, especially Rupert.

Before they let Henry could see Burt, they had to do some paperwork. Why? They sent Burt to the infamous prison called the Wall. The General also had to talk to the warden; Dmitri Petrov. Dmitri was not happy about the situation and he was not happy that Henry was with the Government. They wanted to convict him and send him to the Wall, but the General wouldn't allow it.

Rupert and Henry watched the General talk to Burt in the interrogation room. Burt wasn't looking at the General while he talked, he wasn't wearing his headphones anymore. He was wearing a jail uniform and his black beanie. Galeforce then told Burt that Henry wanted to talk to him.

Burt glanced up at the General in shock and confusion. Henry could see Burt had bags under his eyes and he looked like he hadn't slept in days. Henry could also see Burt's hair was messy, Burt looked like crap to say at least. Henry felt a twinge of guilt, but not a lot since he was still hurt by Burt's insult.

Galeforce stood up and went to exit the room, he closed the door as he glanced at Henry and Rupert. "You can go in now, Henry," Galeforce said.

Henry nodded and went inside the interrogation room.

Burt saw Henry enter the room and he felt anxious upon seeing him. There was an awkward silence as Henry rubbed his arm awkwardly, then he sat down on a chair next to the table, and in front of Burt. They both stared at each other for a few minutes. Henry didn't know what to say to Burt and neither did Burt.

Galeforce and Rupert watched them from the other side.

Then after a few more minutes of awkward silence, Burt sighed heavily as he bowed his head down.

"I'm so sorry."

Henry blinked at Burt in surprise, "For what?" he clarified.

"I'm so sorry for calling you a slut." Burt apologized, sincerely. "I wasn't thinking and I was so angry."

Henry listened to Burt's apology, he was trying to see if Burt was lying, but didn't find any lie in the words. "I shouldn't have called you that. . . Sven was just manipulating me and I fell for it..." Burt continued. "What I did was gross, stupid, and just plain awful."

Burt looked up with his eyes shimmering, "I'm so sorry."

Henry stared at Burt after he finished his apology, Rupert and Galeforce kept watching them. Rupert was hoping that Henry would never forgive Burt, but if Henry forgave him then he should forgive Burt. Henry still kept staring at Burt who was anxiously waiting for him to answer, Henry, closed his eyes as he inhaled and exhaled as he opens his eyes. "I forgive you." he finally answered softly. 

Burt's eyes widen at Henry's response, "You do?" he replied as he smiled slightly. 

Henry nodded as he sighed sadly, "However, we're through."

Galeforce and Rupert both cringed in unison as they saw Burt's hurt expression. "Before you say anything, Burt, I have a reason why." Henry explained, "The thing is... I have already fallen in love with someone else. Why? I tried not to, but he's just a charmer when he wants to be."

Rupert's face went pink upon hearing Henry talk about him as Galeforce smirked at him, he covered his face with his hat. "If you had come sooner... Probably I wouldn't fall in love with him." Henry continued, "And after what you said to me..."

Burt was trembling as he felt tears brewing, he never felt this intense emotion since the last time someone broke his heart, he wiped his tears away quickly. Henry could see Burt was hurting, but he had to tell him what he was feeling. "I'm sorry Burt, I hope we can be friends." Henry finished. 

Burt was now silently sobbing.

Henry bowed his head down, he didn't want to see Burt's face, and he felt his heart break for the second time. A couple of minutes later, Burt ceased his sobbing. He glanced up at Henry with his red and puffy eyes. "Let me talk to the porcupine," he said as his voice cracked.

Henry blinked at Burt in confusion, what? 

Galeforce and Rupert blinked in confusion as well, Rupert felt a little offended at being called a porcupine. "Why do you want to talk to Rupert?" Henry asked in confusion.

"So that's his name?" Burt answered, he glanced at the glass screen where he stared at Rupert, well if he could see Rupert. 

"Why do you want to talk to Rupert?" Henry repeated. 

"Just to tell him something important."

Henry closed his eyes as he stood up and went out of the room. Henry closed the down as he opened his eyes, the General and Rupert stared at him. "Why does the headphones boy want to talk to me?" Rupert questioned suspiciously as he narrowed his eyes. 

"I don't know," Henry replied slowly.

Rupert crossed his arms as he went to the door and opened it. Burt was waiting for Rupert when he saw the aforementioned man come in, he saw Rupert standing in front of him with his arms crossed. Burt took a closer look at Rupert since he couldn't able to the last time, he wanted to know what impressed Henry. After a few seconds of looking, he can figure out why Henry fell for the hedgehog. 

Rupert was a couple of inches taller than Henry; he had muscle and was a little thick. He had a lot of black hair that looked spiky, but it was not spiky. It looked more...fluffy. Burt hated to admit it, but Rupert was a good-looking guy. However, he heard he and Henry hated each other. And he also heard Rupert bullied him so why did Henry fall for him?

"So... You're the one he has fallen in love with?" Burt asked, breaking the uncomfortable silence. 

"Yeah...so what?" Rupert spat out as he narrowed his eyes at Burt.

"I'm just wondering why Henry chose to fall in love with you of all people since you bullied him," Burt replied annoyed.

Rupert uncrossed his arms as he gave Burt a death glare, "I know what I did to him was wrong and he gave me a second chance." he said in annoyance. 

"Then what was that all about when you and Henry went on your "date," Burt growled. 

Rupert snarled at Burt as he clench his fists, "I screwed up, that's what," he replied, "And he forgave me."

Burt stared at him for a moment then he sighed, "Do you love him?" he murmured. 

Rupert blinked as his face went pink, Burt saw this. "Yes," he responded. 

"Do you promise to take care of him? To make sure to never to break his heart?" Burt questioned as he narrowed his eyes.

"Yes," Rupert replied with no hesitation.

"Good."

Burt then glanced at the mirror as he smiled, "Okay, I'm ready to go."

Galeforce and Henry blinked in confusion, Galeforce nodded as he ordered a soldier to come to get Burt. A few minutes later, a soldier came by to take Burt away. Before the soldier took Burt away, Burt glanced at Henry and Rupert who were watching him. 

"Goodbye, Henry Stickmin," Burt said, tone void of emotion.

Then Burt was gone.

Henry closed his eyes as he felt himself trembling, Rupert pulled him into an embrace. 

Henry started sobbing and Rupert hugged him tighter.
