The girls were in the middle of their 7th round of 500 rummy when Sawyer's phone rang. She ignored it. It rang three more times. She ignored it. It rang again, she would have ignored it again but the two girls opposite her were giving her funny looks. She got up and went to the bathroom and answered her phone.

"Hello." Sawyer spoke as if she was happy to be talking to the person on the other line, she wasn't.

"Hia Sawyer, how are things going?" The voice on the other line asked sweetly."Golly you sure are hard to get ahold of, if I didn't know better I woulda thought you were ignoring me."

Sawyer listened to the chipper voice on the phone. If only she was always like this. Sawyer thought to herself. The voice on the other line was female and was chipper and happy with the mannerisms of a 50's 60's sitcom.

"What do you want?" Sawyer asked annoyed. She knew there were only three reasons her boss would call her, and none of them were what she wanted to deal with right now.

"I just wanted to know how things are going? You know Armageddon only comes once dear."

"There going good I guess... I murdered an innocent creature, beat up some bears."

   There was a short pause.

"Oh that's it? You did a science experiment and you broke a bear's nose? Do you not understand how time sensitive this is? Everyone else has been working diligently on their missions while you, one of our best, sit and play ghost hunters!" The voice was no longer calm. It didn't even sound human. Sawyer put the phone down on the counter as it heated up. She debated whether or not to hang up. She decided on the former.

"I understand ma'am, but things have been slow here the past few days."

"Yes that's what you always say, 'things have been slow, I was on vacation, I think so-and-so's on to me, I got detention'. Don't think I don't know what you're doing. If you don't want to be a part of this I won't judge, just let me know and I'll drop it I Promise." And with that the call ended leaving a burnt char for a phone.

Sawyer picked it up and sighed. Well, there goes another phone. Sawyer put the phone in her pocket to show her adoption parents and hoped they would care enough to buy her another... again.

A/N: oh gosh wow, more views? I think it was 23 last time I checked. I think this may be the most people I've gotten on anything...ever. yeah this chapter was a lil weird but now things are starting to happen. Also sorry if I didn't get the character on the phone to sound like a 60s-ish sitcom character, I've only watched a few episodes of I Love Lucy and Wandavision so I'm trying but...
Your feedback is appreciated and important to me (and so are you) so let me know what you think of this crap.
