"Mommy. Wake up!" Mason kissed my cheek.

I murmured something. Still tired and I want to sleep forever. Why can't I stop the time for one century and sleep.

"Mommy. There is snow outside." Mason started
jumping, making me bounce till I woke up.

Mason is a winter person, he loves winter sports, we often go skating. Today is Sunday and I believe he wants to make a snowman.

I do not have to go to work today, so we must go shopping and skating!

I went to him and kissed his head. What would I do without you? I thought in my mind.

He turned around and hugged my waist and looked at me. His grey eyes staring at me.

"Mommy. I wish I had a dad just like my friend Peter!" He asked in a sad voice.

I was frozen at that answer. He asks me a lot about Kyle and I always try to avoid those questions. I lied to Mason that Kyle died out of illnesses, but Kyle showed up to my grandmother's house. I came from work with grocery bags, when I happily opened the door I saw Kyle with Mason in his hands. It brang fear in my veins.

My grandmother lied beside the couch and she looked like she was hit by Kyle. Kyle grabbed a gun and pointed it at my head. I was prepared to die. I only wanted to look one time at Mason and die. Kyle shot at me but my grandmother saved me and took the bullet from me. I remember how I was traumatized by that. In a second the police appeared and took him. I got Mason and started kissing and hugging him .

Kyle's last words before he was taken by the police were that he would be back. My only hope in this world was grandmother, the only one person that loved, respected and saved me. She did all those things and in the end she died while protecting me.

I quickly turned around and wiped my tears. I wanted to remain strong. But I couldn't because I know that one day he is going to be back and I will have nowhere to go.

"I know Mason...I know..." I sat down and hugged him.

"Peter's dad bought a new toy's car and Christmas is not yet. He said to me that his dad is going to buy him a gigantic car bed that he would sleep in."
He murmured and hugged me back.

Peter is Mason's friend, they play together in a playground besides. Peter is 5 years old and already goes to preschool. Mason wants to go too, but I can't afford it and sometimes I feel embarrassed. I started gathering some money and by the end of June he is going to be registered to school.

"I know, Mason..I know."I replied and sighed. In 5 days it is going to be Christmas, today we must start preparation.

"You know what we are going to do today...we are going to buy a big christmas tree and lights." I smiled and looked at him. His expressions changed from sad to happy.

"Really? What about cookies and milk for Santa claus?" He asked and laughed.

"Even cookies and milk for santa!"I laughed.

"Yeeey!"He replied and started running to tell Cole. He opened our apartment's door and started knocking to the door of Cole's apartment. I followed him.

"Uncle Cole! Uncle Cole!" He started calling Cole and knocking on his bedroom door.

Cole quickly opened the door wearing only his boxers.

"What happened, Mason??"He yelled. His eyes wide. You could clearly see he was frightened and scared, because he thought that something bad happened.

"We are going to make a Christmas tree." Mason replied in a silent voice.
