Many, many miles away from Clara and her mother, a boy was sitting on an rusty old bed, in an old room.
His dark eyes stared aimless at the ceiling.
His room was pitch dark, through the open window came the noise from fighting cats and some cars.

A fresh breeze blew into the room and let the pages of an open book flutter.
The book was on the floor, along with a large suitcase that was packed with black cloaks, books, scrolls and other belongings.

Suddenly, the boy turned around and pulled out a long object out of the suitcase.

It was a wooden wand.

With a light movement of the wand he sent the book flying through the air, and on to his lap.

The boy stroked his black hair back from his pale face and opened the book at a certain page.
He flicked his wand again, and a small light began to shine.

For a while the boy sat motionless and followed the words on the book page with his dark eyes.
His thin lips contorted into a pretty, but spiteful smile.
He threw the book back on the floor and stretched out on the bed again.
With a quiet, firm voice, he softly spoke four names to himself:
"Salazar Slytherin, Rowena Ravenclaw, Helga Hufflepuff and... Godric Griffyndor..."

"I'll be back soon... And then I'll find something of each of you..." His words died away.

He raised one of his hands and looked at it.
On one of the long fingers was a black ring with a green stone.
"I, the last living descendant of Salazar Slytherin..."

He dropped his hand and ten minutes later he was fast asleep.

Again the wind was blowing cool air into the room.

But nothing moved.

Not even the pages of the book, which still lay on the floor.
If it had closed, you could recognize a coat of arms on the red cover:
An eagle, a badger, a lion and a serpent that formed a circle around the letter H. Underneath it was written:
The history of Hogwarts

Small and fine, in the corner of the inside of the book cover was written in black ink:
Property of Tom Marvolo Riddle.
