Rapunzel returned at exactly 12:00 A.M. similar to Cinderella. They both had blonde hair, but one had magical healing powers and the other nothing special at all. Their life stories were also completely different, but there was one thing they shared in common. Both young women were abused by a motherly figure, although Cinderella was abused by her actual stepmother rather than an evil witch who kidnapped her as a baby.

She made her way to her chambers, where Eugene was sitting on the bed. Rapunzel walked in and sat beside him.

Eugene instantly made conversation. "How was your night with your lady-in-waiting?"

"She's not just a lady-in-waiting, Eugene," Rapunzel said. "She has a name, you know. Her name is Cassandra." She smiled, blushing. "And she's beautiful."

Eugene smiled, putting his arms around Rapunzel, making her laugh. She then allowed her head to rest on Eugene's shoulders. Tired from the outing and the time, she fell right asleep on his shoulders. Seeing that his fiancee was comfortably asleep on his shoulder, he lifted her up and placed the beautiful sleeping girl onto the bed. He smiled, thinking to himself about how beautiful Rapunzel was as she slept.

It crossed his mind that he should crawl into bed with her, but was not so sure. They were not yet married, so it felt somewhat uncomfortable sleeping in the same bed together. But they were close, were they not? They loved each other that much, right? Then why haven't they married? Why were they only engaged? Eugene thought about it, the thoughts racing so much that he had trouble falling asleep.

Rapunzel opened her eyes. It was now 12:30 A.M. Eugene could not sleep for thirty minutes. "Are you OK, Eugene? What's going on? We never hide anything from each other, so tell me! Please!"

The thoughts kept racing, but stopped so he could focus on what Rapunzel was saying. "We're only engaged, but I keep thinking about sleeping in the same bed. But I know that that's only typical of married couples, and we both know that we're not married," Eugene said.

Rapunzel scooted over and patted the other side of the bed. "There's still room," Rapunzel said. "You can sleep here."

"Oh, I just thought you'd be uncomfortable with it," Eugene said.

"I'm uncomfortable with a lot of things, but this is not. I would never feel uncomfortable with you.  Plus, there's tons of space!"

Eugene smiled and was now more at ease. "Did you and Cassandra ever get the chance to go to that restaurant she talked about taking you to?"

"Oh. That one," said Rapunzel. "Well, uh, we got kinda sidetracked."

"How so?" Eugene asked.

"Well, Cass and I got lost in time making conversation. When she said that she'd take me to a restaurant, I started talking about the restaurant you took me to that one time. But she said it's dangerous. And I said that those thugs are not dangerous because they're your friends. I tried to tell her that those thugs are just a bunch of nice, quirky men who just have dreams of their own that they want to fulfill. But she didn't wanna hear it, I don't think. At least, that's how it seemed to me. She kept saying that it is her duty to protect me in this world," Rapunzel said. "What duty is that? I don't need to be protected from the thugs at The Snuggly Duckling! That would just be ridiculous! But don't worry, the rest of the night was totally platonic. Like I said that you can't judge someone before you meet them, although both of us made the comment that we assumed each other beautiful and that was the case. Then, Cass, she made a comment about how that lady-in-waiting outfit didn't fit her, and boy, was she right! She looks so much better... and hotter to in an outfit that fits her much better."
