Shoto's POV
The wolves stayed in place as they were left as frozen statues. The woman in front of me laughed, almost mocking me. She's hiding something else up her sleeve. I need to figure out what her Quirk is for me to properly counter her. I do know that her Quirk has something to do with these wolves. Unless it's her teammate's Quirk.
What to do? What to do?!
"While Aquarius is holding her own against your teammate, it seems my match will be with you." The woman chuckles, "And now, I have to deal with you and your icy ways. Water against ice. Which will prevail? Ice can freeze water, but water can dissolve ice if it's warm enough."
"Enough talk..." I growled, feeling my body temperature cooling as I readied myself to throw my wall of ice. "I'll stop you."
"Good! Let's see how U.A.'s finest student fights!"
Something isn't right. I don't know what it was, but there was something that didn't feel right.
Reaching her utility belt, she holds two grenade-looking things. It looked similar to Bakugo's. I braced myself, wondering what is inside those grenades. I couldn't attack without seeing all of her moves and tools. She throws the grenade. It's either because the grenade has nothing to do with attacking her opponents or she has terrible aim because it never got close to me. Once they exploded, I saw her Quirk coming to play.
Water bombs. They were water bombs. Before I could freeze them, the woman held out her hands and began to warp them. She formed two more wolves with the water, smirking. They came to life, coming to her side.
"Come!" She calls out, and I see the new wolves of hers running toward the frozen ones. I don't know how, but those frozen wolves thawed out of their icy prison and ran back to her side. She raised her whip and flicked it on the ground. "Fly!" Two of her wolves transformed into owls, flapping their water wings as they entered the sky. "Search!" The two owls began to soar, searching the buildings.
That was her Quirk... her Quirk allows her to control water into animals. I can't fight against her birds finding the flag and fight against her head-on to stop her from getting to the flag. The rules were clear... the opponent has to be the one to touch the flag. But I don't think the rules have stated that the flags can be removed from their placement and brought into their hands.
If that's the fact, then I can leave the birds alone and deal with her head-on. After that, I can deal with the birds. I got into my fighting stance, thinking about how to disable her use of using grenades. I could see 3 more on her utility belt. If I can get her source of water out of the way, she can stop summoning more creatures to her side. But I would have to deal with her current wolves. Once I get the grenades away from her, I can use my flames to evaporate the wolves. I'll be weakened and overheated, but I can do it. That or I can skip to defeating her quickly so I wouldn't need to worry about it.
She smirked at me, "Let's see you fight with your ice."
"Let's..." I smirked, ignoring the frost growing on me. It'll melt and my temperature will rise soon, but now, I can tolerate it.
When I exhaled, I saw my breath. The ice began to grow from my foot as it spread across the roof of the building. The wolves jumped over the wave of ice, growling at me. I have to make it icy cold enough to use Flashfreeze Heatwave. With the fire afterward, it should evaporate all the water in the area. Hopefully, Phantom Thief found the flag to end this.
"Attack!" She calls to her wolves, and they ran after me. I need it colder to make a greater impact.
Ice spikes grew from the ground, creating a small wall against her wolves. Colder. It needs to be colder. She broke through the icy wall, and I could see her trembling. Her white breath formed as she tried to breathe. Her fingers on her whip were turning red from the cold. Perfect.
"Flashfreeze..." I say under my breath, feeling my body temperature rising from the flames licking my arm. Frost from my ice began to melt as I point my arm toward her. The fear in her eyes... you can never underestimate your enemy. "Heatwave!" I shout at the top of my lungs, unleashing my flames.
Once the smoke and steam died down, I could see her on her knees, struggling to her feet. I fell to mine, panting heavily. She reached into her utility belt, taking out one of her water grenades. But the unexpected happened. It slips from her hand and she collapses on the ground, passed out. Her wolves were nowhere to be found as they evaporated from the heat.
"One down..." I mumbled, struggling to my feet. "One more to go..." I grumbled, waiting for my temperature to go back to normal before running toward their side of the arena. I may not have found her water owls, but if she was controlling them, her passing out would've stopped her owls. Now, I have to help Phantom Thief.
A few steps were taken when I heard All Might's voice booming over the speakerphone. I was glad to hear those words to the point that I fell to my knees, accepting my exhaustion. I haven't had a chance to see who that other student was, but I'm glad to have our team prevail.
"U.A. High School's Phantom Thief retrieved the flag! U.A. wins!"
