Shoto's POV

We changed into our school uniforms as we prepared to go to the cafeteria. Everyone congratulated us for showing who was boss or something along those lines. Later on, we were going to get to know these students. They would study with us for a month before they need to go back to their school for the rest of the year. This might be the last time to see them.

"It's strange to see this much food at school," I hear an unfamiliar voice, "and it's nothing like at our school, Hiroma."

"Listen, we may be in U.A., but that doesn't mean you have to be formal with me, (y/n). Just call me by my first name. After all, you're my friend. How would you feel if I kept calling you by your last name? Mizuhara! Mizuhara!" I remember that voice from the arena.

I see them wearing that uniform that Uraraka showed me while I turned my head to see them. They were still holding their trays, staring at the lines of various food stalls. They look completely different than what I expected. Even the person I was fighting against looked nicer now than earlier.

"Doesn't that sound annoying when it's your friend?"

"A bit. But if Sirena comes around and she hears us-."

"That's fine. Sirena would be happy to hear that her top students are getting along in school compared to the other people. Remember?"

"I remember. Anyways, we're going to run out of time for lunch. What should we get?"

"The school's soba is fine," I say as they jumped in surprise. "It's quick to order and eat if you're low on time. That's just my opinion."

The student that I fought perked up when she recognized me. "Ah, it's you... erm... I didn't quite catch your name."

"Todoroki. Shoto Todoroki."

"I'm Kazemi Hiromi and this is (y/n) Mizuhara. It was a pleasure to fight against you. You surprised me with the fire-."

"Kazemi, I think it's better to talk after  we got lunch, don't you agree? I do want to talk with him too, but I'm hungry and we haven't eaten anything since we left our school." (y/n) smiled a bit, "You said the soba is your suggestion?"

"I have it almost every day," I confessed.

"Can you point us in that direction?"

After they ordered soba, we sat in an isolated corner, which was the best we could do without everyone crowding us. We began to talk about the match, and I was curious about Kazemi's Quirk as well as (y/n)'s because I never got into a battle with her.

"My Quirk is Aqua Animal. I'm able to shapeshift water into animals that I've seen and interacted with before. Only water and no other liquid. Wolves tend to be my go-to animal because my family was animal tamers with the ability to soothe them. I was the one to take care of the wolves."

I turned to (y/n), wondering what hers is.

"Water Absorption. I'm able to control water. I can heal as well as turn invisible with it only if my entire body is covered with water."

I don't think it's a coincidence that these two Quirks are water-related. Perfect pairs if our arena was some sort of a beach or pool arena. We had a slightly higher advantage that it wasn't water.

"Ah, what's yours, Todoroki?" Kazemi asks us. They insisted on calling me by my last name to be more formal, yet they insisted I call them by their first name. "It's ice and fire, right? Strange. It's two halves of a coin."

"Half-cold Half-hot. That's mine. On my right is my ice ability and my left is my fire ability."

"Wow, that's so surprising. Isn't it, (y/n)? We don't see much of duality like yours, Todoroki."

"It's because of I'm a product of a Quirk Marriage."

"Quirk Marriage?" (y/n) questions as her chopsticks clung to a few strands of soba noodles. "I've never heard of it. What is it?"

"Marriages based on Quirks and hoping for the desired outcome."

"That's very interesting because where we are, we don't have any Quirk Marriages. We don't care much about it." (y/n) says softly, eating her soba. "But your Quirk is amazing. Ice and fire..."

We were interrupted by Uraraka, who was hurriedly running to us. "Todoroki, Mr. Aizawa wants us to get to class immediately. Iida couldn't find you, so he sent the entire class searching for you."

"I'm coming," I say, finishing the last bits of noodles before grabbing my tray. "Hopefully, we can talk to each other again."

"See ya."

Putting my tray away, I followed Uraraka back to our classroom. I'm assuming we're gathering to talk about the students, now that they are going to stay here for a month. I wonder which one we'll have.
