Chapter One

A young woman arrived at the main entrance. She had a silk white dress. She walked the halls of the chateau before entering a room. It's wooden door had a carved S in the middle. She twisted the golden knob and entered the room. There, she sat in the bed. The wooden door opened. "How are you doing", said Mrs. Fielford. "I am doing fine", said the young woman. Mrs. Fielford held a broom. She entered the room and cleaned the floors. Almost every single scatter on the floor was taken away by the broom. The young woman watched Mrs. Fielford clean her room. Then after a few moments she moved closet to the window, sat down in a chair, where she saw Mr. Jennings having a conversation with her father. They were in the garden, wandering about while they converse. "Why is Mr. Jennings here", asked the young woman. "He's planning to buy one of your father's property". "Which one", asked the young woman. " I think he's planning on buying the house down at London". Mrs. Fielford was done cleaning the room. "Should I ask the cook to make pie". "Why". "Because It's your favorite". The young woman said "okay". Mrs. Fielford exited the room.

She was already in the kitchen. "The young lady wants some of your pie", she said to the cook. The cook went to prepare the ingredients for the pie. Mrs. Fielford went to her room, the tiny four corners had a small bed, beside it is a shelf. She opened one of the shelves and took the stack of clothes laying on the bed, she put them in the shelf, then closed it. She went to the back door, exited, where the garden was. Mr. Jennings was entering the house, he is joined by his assistant. Mr. Woodward was standing in the garden. Mrs. Fielford greeted the gardner a good morning. Mr. Woodward saw her and called her. "Please tell my daughter to prepare for the visit of the Jennings family".

The young woman was still wearing the same white silk dress. It was dinner. Her father, Mr. Jennings, Tom Jennings, and Mrs. Jennings were there sat together waiting for dinner. She joined them. "There she is", said Mr. Jennings. "What a beautiful young lady you are", said Mrs. Jennings. She sat beside Tom. He smiled at her in which she replied also with a smile. They were eating turkey. Mr. Jennings and Mr. Woodward were talking about the estate in London. The young woman never said any word throughout dinner, Tom kept looking at her, which caused her a bit uncomfortable. Mrs. Jennings kept laughing and smiling at every joke and sentence that Mr. Woodward said. Once she finished her plate, she stood up and asked to be excused. "Good night", said her father. "Have a nice sleep, replied Mrs. Jennings. At her room she changed into her nightgown and looked at the window. The gardener, at a very late hour, was still tending the garden. Then she went to sleep, hoping that the next day would be better.
