There was no god. Junichi was sure of it.
Why?
Tsukishima and his groupie were part of the volleyball club.
Normally, Junichi wouldn't care if they were a part of the club, especially since he wasn't planning to, you know, actually interact with any of the teammates. The only people he planned on actually being friends with were Shoyo and Kiyoko-sempai, the gorgeous third year manager. But he found himself caring when Tsukishima came up to him and started talking.
"Can you believe that guy? No wonder why they call him King of the Court, he's so stuck up and controlling," Tsukishima complained about Kageyama, leaning on the wall next to where Junichi stood. "And that shrimpy orange haired idiot- is he your brother or something? I pity you for being related to that hyperactive deluded fool."
Junichi gave a non-committal hmm and continued watching the practice.
Junichi knew what he was talking about. Apparently, Shoyo and Kageyama had run into what Junichi was dubbing the Terrible Two the night before in the park. When Shoyo had gotten home, he had spent hours complaining about the "four-eyed wicked giant" to Junichi.
Junichi just wanted a peaceful time watching his cousin play volleyball. Why did the fates decide to throw a narcissistic asshole of a setter and a blond boy who breathed insults into the mix?
When Junichi died, he was going to get into a boxing match with the Fates, he already decided.
"Tachibana-san!" Sugawara-sempai called out as he jogged up to Junichi, thankfully shutting the blond up. The older male wiped sweat off his forehead as he beamed at Junichi. "Daichi-kun and I saw what you did to the club room. I just wanted to thank you for that."
Junichi had cleaned the club room during lunch, since Shoyo had been too busy practicing. He had gotten a tad bit too into it, and now the room looked like something out of Keppei Danshi! Aoyama kun!
He swore he wasn't a germaphobe, just frustrated at life (and maybe even a certain Instagram post by an ex-friend of his), but Tanaka-sempai certainly seemed to think he was earlier.
Junichi smiled at Sugawara-sempai. "I guess I got a bit carried away..." he said sheepishly.
Sugawara-sempai laughed, his handsome features relaxed and kind. "Don't worry, Tachibana-san. Tanaka thinks everyone who doesn't live in cakes of dirt is a germaphobe." He winked at Junichi before he turned to Tsukishima. "Come on, stop skipping out on practice to talk to our newest manager. You may be classmates, but the team comes before hooking up with the manager. You got it?"
Sugawara-sempai practically dragged Tsukishima back to the court, where an irritated Daichi-sempai stood with his arms crossed.
Junichi watched Sugawara-sempai pat Daichi-sempai on the shoulder.
Maybe the volleyball team would be better than he thought they would be, he mused quietly, his gold-brown eyes never leaving the silver-haired boy's body.
