Theo didn't leave his room for two days.
He didn't eat, and he barely even slept.
The only thing he could think about was Athena, and how he was part of the reason she left.
His poor sister.
He never should have doubted her.
Athena told him how she felt and he dismissed her, waved her off.
He could hear her voice ringing in his head.
"They treat me like I'm some monster!" She yelled, "All because my powers differ from theirs."
"That's not true Athena." Draco had told her.
"You don't see how they look at me when I walk by? The terrified look in their eyes?"
"They just don't understand how your powers work. They don't know what to expect." Theo tried to reason with her, "Maybe you should just keep the your bracelet on-"
"Stop with the stupid bracelet!" Athena suddenly yelled, "it does nothing but hold me back! This," she yelled as she ripped the bracelet from her wrist, "This is to make everyone else feel better about having me around, but what about how I feel?"
"Athena-"
"Look at you." The girl scoffed, "Even you two are afraid of me."
"I'm not afraid of you Athena, but I do think you should put the bracelet back on. Just until we get things figured out okay?"
"No." Athena replied harshly. "I already have everything figured out."
"What does that mean?" Draco asked her.
"Dad told me I can move schools, to a place where my powers will be embraced, a place where won't be judged for who I am." She told them.
"Where would you go?" Theo asked as he inches towards her, hoping that she would listen to him. "There's no school that I know of that teaches magic like yours."
"Beauxbatons." She responded, backing away from her brother. "They supposedly have a teacher there who has similar powers to mine. They can help me learn to control my powers."
"And what after that?" Draco questioned. "By that time you'll be done with school. We only have two more years left."
"Exactly." Theo agreed, "Will you come back?"
The two boys watched as Athena fiddled with the rings on her fingers for a moment before she responded, "I'm not sure."
With that response, Theo said something that he knew was selfish, but Athena was all he had after his mother died.
He just couldn't risk losing her forever.
"You can't leave."
Athena gave him a look of disbelief, "What?"
"You can't leave." He repeated. "I can't lose you."
Athena looked between the two before pausing her gaze at Draco, "And you agree I'm assuming?"
He nodded.
"I can't stay." She said as a tear fell down her cheek. ''Not while I feel this way.''
''Well you can't just leave with no telling whether you'll come back or not.''
''Draco you cannot tell me what I can and can't do.'' She hissed, ''The both of you are being terribly selfish. Why should I have to suffer?''
