Recap:

Gunner takes him to his quarters of the HQ, and helps clean the cuts off the young boy. He was eight at the time. When it was ready to go to bed, Gunner pulled Raz close, watching as the boy falls asleep. "Don't worry, i'll get you out of this one day, i promise." Gunner kisses Raz on forehead.

"Raz! You good?!"

He snaps out of it, looks at Jones and doesn't say anything.

As The Foundation was talking a long speech like leaders do, Raz was busy getting ready, and occasionally staring off into space. Today was his 15th birthday, and how fun, He was spending it in a fucking war.

"Hey, Raz, you good?"

No. No I'm not alright.

"Hm? Oh yeah I'm perfectly fine."

"Really? You don't look perfectly fine. Raz, you can tell me anything. You know that, right?"

"Look Jones I haven't even known you for-"

There was a gun shot outside. And it sounded pretty close. Everybody ran out to find Slone with a gun to somebody's head. It was Gunner. "Gunner!!! No please Slone he's all I have left! I'll do anything!!" But it was too late. She had pulled the trigger. Everything went in slow motion as Gunner's body fell to the ground. Raz stood there, no feelings in his body. Raz started walking to running to a full on sprint to get to Gunner. "No no no no!!!!" Raz tried to put pressure on the wound, but it wasn't working very well. Tears fell from his eyes as Gunner said his last words. "Raz, go on without me, i'll be fine heh." As Gunner breathed his last breath, Raz looked up to find Slone and a gun to his head.

Raz stood still as Slone kept the gun to his head. His voice was trembling as he spoke: "S-Slone. Please. I'll go with you. I'll listen. I'll be the project you need me to be. Just don't hurt my friends." He looked toward Jones. Foundation loaded his gun, ready to shoot. "Dwayne. Move one more step, he dies. Understand?"

Dwayne moved back, as Jones was trying to convince Slone to give Raz up. "Please. You've tortured him enough." Slone laughed. It was a laugh of evil.

Slone pulled the trigger.

It was all white. Raz sat up slowly, to see nothing. Just white. "Hello?!? Jones?! Dwayne?! Anybody?!?"

"Raz. Raz. RAZ!"

Raz could have sworn it was Slone. He started running towards the sound.

"You pulled the trigger, didn't you?" Raz said when he got to Slone.

She said nothing.

"Answer me you bitch!! Did. You. Pull. The. Trigger?!?!"

"Yes!! Yes i did!"

"Why?! You said you were like a mother to me! What kind of mother shoots his own fucking son?!"

"I only took you in because I had too."

"Nobody wanted too!!! You killed them all!!! Spire Assassin, My real parents, Gunner! You murdered them all! In front of me! Now you figure out a way to bring me back, or i will make your afterlife a living Hell."

For the first time, Slone looked scared. "There's one way. But you have to do something for me."

"What?"

"Don't turn me in."

"You are out of your mind!"

"Fine. Guess i'll have to tell Jones you're not coming back."

"Jones. Shit. Fine! I won't turn you in! Please just bring me back!"

"Okay."
