In the heart of the SRS base, the Unyonian army gathered, eager to access the new weapons that would allow them to face the relentless monsters that had plagued their lands. They had witnessed firsthand how easily the SRS soldiers wielded their guns, cutting down enemies with deadly precision. The SRS drill instructors and sergeants made it clear: the era of swords and spears was behind them, relics of a past where such weapons were enough. Now, in this new world, the gun had become the primary tool of survival. Without bullets to reload, even the sword was a secondary choice.
The instructors went on to explain the power of firearms. Guns could kill an enemy with a single shot, but they weren't infallible. Against foes with thick, armor-like skin or heavy protective suits, the bullets might fail to pierce. For that reason, they introduced the Unyonians to something more powerful: energy weapons. Among them was the energy bow, capable of firing energy arrows without the need for physical ammunition. Instead, it drew from a limitless energy source, making it a weapon of incredible potential. Intrigued, the archers grew curious, eager to see the weapon in action.
Alria, one of the most skilled archers, volunteered without hesitation. She had her reasons, ones rooted in vengeance and a desire to protect the new family she had found. With determination, she took the energy bow from the table, her fingers brushing its sleek frame. She stepped up to the target range, took a deep breath, and nocked an energy arrow. Her pull was smooth and practiced, and when she released, the arrow shot forward with blinding speed, hitting the bullseye with a precise strike.
The Unyonians watched in awe as the energy bow proved its devastating effectiveness, capable of taking down targets in a single shot. They could only imagine how formidable such weapons would be in battle. After her demonstration, the soldiers eagerly began training, practicing their aim with the guns, trying to master their new tools of war.
Not long after, Princess Carmella and her councilors arrived at the SRS base, observing the army in action. They were astounded by the efficiency and organization of the Salvatian forces. The weapons—guns, energy bows, and more—seemed to promise an easy victory without the need for close combat. But it wasn't just the weapons that impressed them. The sight of the vehicles and aircrafts, tools of destruction and strategy, left them speechless.
Eichi, his voice filled with admiration, remarked, "So this is the Salvatian military. I can see they're more organized and prepared to take the southern continent from the monsters."
Guzah nodded, his expression thoughtful. "Indeed. But remember, Xavier has stated that he does not fight for fame, glory, or honor. He fights for victory, and that's what he believes in. Coming from another world, his people fight not for the sake of tradition, but to win. To them, we are primitive—still clinging to swords and magic, while they wield science and technology."
Alberad added, his voice tinged with awe, "Even magic doesn't compare to the level of technology they possess."
Carmella watched as the military personnel moved with purpose, taking their positions and working seamlessly. Her gaze lifted, and she saw the SRS Condor descending from the sky, its sleek form touching down gracefully. The personnel scrambled to unload the supplies, further proving the efficiency of Xavier's forces.
"This is the military of Salvatia," Carmella murmured under her breath, her voice filled with awe and uncertainty. "Despite being an otherworlder, and one who's experienced the trials of reincarnation, Xavier has made his country and military look just like the world he came from. How could someone like him possess such power? Was he meant to lead his people and change the world for the better, for all demihumans to live in peace? Or will he rule with an iron fist?"
Her mind raced with questions and doubts, stirred by the revelations Xavier had shared with her. His origins, his intentions—what kind of future lay ahead for the people of this continent? Would he be the one to bring lasting change, or would he become another tyrant?
