It has been a week since Lauren had taken Camila's virginity. A few days ago it was rumoured that Camila and Jake broke up. Lauren decided to phone Camila and see if she was still coming over to Lauren's house for movies because they had a tradition that every week they'd watch movies together. One would bring movies and one would buy food.
"Hey." Camila said when she answered her cell phone.
"Hey." Lauren said, "How's it goin?"
"All right.." Camila said quietly.
"I heard that you and Jake broke up.. Is that true?" Lauren asked concerned.
"Oh." Camila said quietly, "Uh yeah. We decided we weren't really serious or tried anything. Basically we acted like we were just friends so... Yeaah."
"Well you don't have to come over later. I understand if you don't okay?" Lauren asked.
"Oh. No no no. I'll be over in a bit. I think it'd be better for me. I need some things off my mind and you're perfect for that.... So I will be there later." She said, "Byyyyyeee."
"Okay see you then." Lauren said before hanging the phone up.
In the meantime Lauren made popcorn and went to the grocery store to get drinks and candy.
By the time Lauren got back from the grocery store, Camila was sitting on the couch, eating the popcorn and watching 'American Dad'.
"Oh hey." Lauren said, smiling and packing a case of pop and bag of candy and chocolate bars.
"I sort of just let myself in." Camila confessed.
"Oh no problem." Lauren said setting the stuff on the floor in front of the couch where Camila was sitting.
"You're literally my favourite person ever." She said scanning all the candy in the bag.
Lauren smiled in response and sat down next to her.
"So what're we gonna watch tonight." Lauren asked, not taking her eyes off the tv.
"I don't know," Camila said grabbing four different movie cases, "I've got Good Luck Chuck, This Is us, Pitch Perfect, and more American Dad."
"Pretty sure we watched most of American Dad, We also watched Pitch Perfect like a billion times, This Is Us is kinda lame, and what's Good Luck Chuck?" Lauren asked, ending her words with a question about a movie.
"Good Luck Chuck it is!" She said,
"Oh and I don't know. Dinah said it was hilarious though so yeah I grabbed it."
Camila and Lauren sat on the couch, the bowl of popcorn between them as they watched the movie.
'The movie isn't all that bad' Lauren thought. What she didn't know was there are some sex scenes. As they watched the movie, the sex scenes flashed on the screen.
Camila and Lauren kept throwing quick glances at each other, trying to read each other's faces and see what they're thinking.
They were both weighing on their elbows, heads almost touching, with the bowl of popcorn between them still.
The both of them had touched hands and looked at each other.
"Sorry." Lauren said quietly and they chuckled.
As they looked at each other they never broke the eye contact. Starring at each other whilst the movie was playing.
"It's okay." Camila said slowly and quietly.
