Walking around New York was very different than I had imagined. I never knew the Paparazzi would be following me and my boyfriend around every chance they could. Jake was on a trip in Hawaii with his family, so when he came back home he took me out to a very nice restaurant as a date. As we were getting seated, I heard my phone ring. I didn't answer because it was a unknown number. We had dinner and it was very delicious. Just as Jake was paying the bill, I got a text message. Again, it was from a unknown number so I didn't think much of it. When I opened it my mouth dropped and I ran to the bathroom. Jake called my name but I didn't look back. I sat in the bathroom crying and was trembling in shock. I kept looking at the text message and every time I looked again, it was still there. I went back out to the table where Jake was sitting. He took my hand and we went back to the apartment. "Shayla, are you okay? What happened back there?" Jake asked me. I didn't answer for a minute, but then I told him that the past is coming back to haunt me. He took my phone and read the text out loud.
