Anna thought she lived in the best neighborhood in her personal opinion. All of her friends and herself lived on the same block. School actually seemed fun to her, and she had everything she could everything dream of. Anna was a very pretty girl. She had long brunette hair that was softer than a pillow. Her eyes were blue and beautiful. She was everyone at her high schools secret crush.
She would never consider herself the queen bee of the school, that was too cheesy and too far fetched. But, she was certainly anything but unpopular. Almost every guy had a crush on her, whether they knew it or not. Anna wouldn't dare be rude to anyone, and was in fact the sweetest person you could meet.
It was the last day of school at Bridgerson High School. Everyone was at their lockers, having their last few conversations of the school year. All of the students spoke as though they never would see each other again, but they all knew that they would bump into each other at one point or another during the summer. Anna walked down the hallway and smiled. Just fifteen more minutes and she would be free from school, and just 24 more hours and she would be on her vacation to the beach with her mother and father.
Anna spoke to a few different people that she just couldn't remember the names of. She felt bad, but with the amount of people that spoke to her daily, it was hard to keep track. She waved goodbye to a student and looked at her watch. She counted down the time until school would be over. She counted. 3...2...1. The bell rang and Anna made her way to the door. Anna met up with her friend Lailah. They would always walk home together, as they lived across the street from each other.
"So" Lailah started. "You excited to be on break?". Anna looked at her, she wondered why she walked a bit jerky.
"Yeah, but I will miss everyone" Anna said softly.
Lailah looked over at Anna with a soft smile on her face. Along with everyone else in the school, Lailah knew that Anna thought school was fun. They walked a bit longer until they parted at their houses. Anna walked inside of her house and set her bag onto the counter.
She saw her mom making sandwiches. Anna went over to her and gave her a kiss on the cheek. Her mother gave her a smile. Anna went over to the couch, and placed some last minute things into her bag. Their family was going to leave for a road trip that night, and spend a week at a beach house.
Anna looked around. "Where's dad?" she asked.
"Oh, he's just getting a few last minute things for the beach" her mom answered. Anna nodded her head. She walked to her room, and saw her hamster, Hammy, eating his pellets. She smiled and gave Hammy a few gentle strokes on the back. "Don't worry buddy, Lailah will come over and feed you and take care of you while I'm gone" she said with a smile on her face. She grabbed her suitcase and heard her front door open. Anna knew it must be her dad.
With her suitcase, she ran to the front door and gave her dad a hug. She loved both of her parents, but it always seemed that she favored her dad over her mom.
"Are we all ready to go?" her father asked. Anna nodded her head, and grabbed what bags she could. Her mom and dad did the same with the remaining bags. They went out to their car, and put their bags in the trunk of their car. Anna got into her seat, and put on her seatbelt.
Her dad got into the drivers seat, and her mom into the passengers seat. Anna's dad started the car and drove off. Anna pulled out her phone and headphones, and listened to music until she drifted off to sleep, hoping to wake up to her beach home.
