I may have done some skipping around

Much to the dismay of the short tangerine, you had become quite popular in your grade, being known for your kindness.

The two of you would always be interrupted during lunch, with other first years asking you for help, and being you, you couldn't refuse.

He barely got to spend any time with you due to how you'd end up being crowded around by others, effectively walling him off from you.

"Hey (f/n), did you want to-"

"(L/N)! COULD YOU GIVE ME SOME ADVICE, PLEASE?"

You looked at your friend with an apologetic expression, and he just sighed, crossing his arms while you dealt with the other first year.

You finished helping them, and got back to the conversation.

"You were saying, Shoyo?"

He looked around to make sure he wouldn't be interrupted again before asking,
"I was GOING to ask, do wanna go see a movie this weekend?"

You finished swallowing your food,
"Sure, I'd like that! What's the movie about?"

He grinned sinisterly, rubbing his hands together,
"It's a secret!"

The day before, he was somehow able to form a plan, though he wasn't very sure why. All he had to do is get you to watch a horror movie with him. He was positive that you wouldn't be able to handle it, and could already imagine you clinging onto him in fear, an image that caused his heart rate to rise.

'This is gonna be so good!'

"A horror movie? You sure you can handle it, Shoyo?"

He dragged you into the theater room, finding two seats two rows behind the front,
"Of course I can!"

A mischievous grin appeared on his face as he thought to himself,
'But will you be able to, (f/n)?'

His plan backfired hardcore. Instead of quivering in fear, you watched the whole movie with a blank face, and even laughed at some parts!

On the flip side, Shoyo had to watch the whole movie with his eyes covered with his hands, occasionally peeking to see if the scary parts were over.

At some point he had grabbed onto your hand, gripping onto it so tightly you swore he was starting to cut off your blood circulation.

"Are you sure you want to stay for the rest of the movie?"

He uncovered his eyes and released your hand from his grip, not knowing you had noticed his fearful state.

"Y-yeah! What, are you scared?"

Right at that moment, a blood curdling scream could be heard as the main character had been jump scared by the [ghost/murderer], causing him to hide his face in your shirt in fear.

You could hear him whisper,
"I'd like to go now..."

You chuckled to yourself for a moment before standing up, holding him close to you as you both left so he wouldn't have to witness anymore of the movie.

Once you had left the theater, you sat down on a bench with him.

"Are we out of the theater yet?"

You ripped him off of you, exposing him to the light of the moon,
"Yup!"

He let out a sigh of relief.

"Why'd you take us to a scary movie if you were gonna leave half way through?"

"THAT WAS ONLY HALFWAY? I thought I could handle it now since I'm in high school!"

You held onto his hand, this time voluntarily,
"I don't really think that's how it works. Do you wanna head back to my place? We can have a sleepover if you want?"

He nodded, and kept holding your hand as you walked to your house, feeling like if he let go, you'd disappear, just like in the movie.

When he got to your house, he seemed very weary of you. He'd seen things like this before, two friends go to see a scary movie, one of them gets scared, and when they get home, they get pranked.

Well he decided that he wouldn't let that happen to him, never taking his eyes off of you.

"How about we watch a non-scary movie? I think I have [movie of your choice] on DVD, does that sound good?"

"Mhm,"

You walked out of your room, still speaking to him,
"I'll go set up the movie, you can wear some of my comfy clothes if you want,"

As soon as you closed the door, he changed into your larger pieces of clothing, which you kept because of their comfortability. He approached the door, but stopped himself from opening it.

You were totally on the other side of it, waiting to scare him! But he wasn't going to fall for it, not this time!

He flung the door open, jumping out into the hallway with a defensive stance,
"I GOT YOU!"

But there wasn't anyone there.

He heard you tell from the living room,
"Is everything alright over there?"

His face went read with embarrassment,
"Y-YEAH, IM ALRIGHT,"

He walked with shame to the living room, where you had already set up the couch with pillows and blankets.

He jumped onto the couch, taking immense satisfaction in how cozy he felt.

You sat down next to him, also wearing a large sweatshirt,
"You ready?"

He leaned onto you,
"Yeah!"

Halfway through the movie, he decided to ask,
"Why haven't you tried scaring me yet?"

Your gaze was locked to the TV, your favorite scene starting to play,
"Why would I?"

He turned his head to face you,
"Because of how scared I was at the movies! Usually people will try to scare someone after something like that!"

You paused the movie, and stared deeply into his eyes,
"Well, during the movie, you seemed SUPER scared, like piss-your-pants kind of scared,"

"No I wasn't!"

You gave him a look.

"Okay maybe I was..."

You put an arm around him, pink dusting both yours and his cheeks,
"Back to what I was saying, I thought it'd be mean if I tried to scare you if you were already that afraid, so I didn't! It's that simple!"

You unpaused the movie, and while the characters were speaking, he started to think to himself.

Why were you always so considerate?! He knew that you'd totally get enjoyment out of scaring him, but you didn't!

But at the same time, that's part of why he adored you so much. You always put others first, especially him. He could count on one hand the amount of times you've made fun of him for being short, something he wished he could say about others.

All of this thinking, along with the long day he'd been through, had made him tired, and he yawned while laying his head on your stomach.

You didn't really take note of this, too absorbed on your movie, but unconsciously, a hand drifted to his head, soothingly patting him off to sleep.

Only after the movie had finished, you noticed the boy had fallen asleep on top of you.

You decided that you'd sleep there with him, just to keep him company of course.

A yawn escaped you as you held him in your arms,
"Goodnight Shoyo,"
