Kitty was finishing up getting ready for her date and despite her confident facade she was still undeniably nervous about going out. Putting her earrings on, the phone suddenly started to ring and Kitty sauntered through her living room, pulling the receiver off the wall.

"Hello?"

"Kitty?" Dr.Ventures voice spoke to her through the phone and Kitty tsked impatiently,

"What is it, Rusty?"

"I was just calling to ask if you were still going out on a date with my bodyguard." Dr.Venture tried to make his voice seem nonchalant, but it was obvious he was calling to see if she had left yet and was still very bothered by the whole thing.

"Yes, I am." Kitty told him as a matter-of-factly. Before he could say anything else, Kitty said, "I'm actually busy getting ready for my date right now. Is there an actual reason why you called? Maybe something you'd like to say before I'm off?"

Dr.Ventures face lit up bright red when she said this and stammering, he said, "No." before promptly hanging up the phone. After hearing the dial tone, Kitty scoffed and hung the phone up quickly, crossing her arms over her chest out of frustration. Her face then changed from slight anger to a dismal glance at the phone, and reaching for the receiver, Kitty thought she might try to call him back. But before her fingers could even graze the plastic, Kitty heard a buzz and then a voice over the intercom at her front door.

"Hey... it's me."

Hearing Brock's voice made her giddy and zipping over to her front door, Kitty answered back through the intercom,

"Hi! I'll be down in two shakes of a lamb's tail."

Quickly grabbing her purse, Kitty opened her front door and took one final look at the phone before rushing downstairs, not wanting to keep her date waiting.

Sitting in the passenger seat of Brock's Hemi, Kitty tried her best to relax and lit up a cigarette to calm her nerves. The inside of Brock's Dodge Charger smelled surprisingly good... she could smell the musk of Brock's cologne and the leather from his jacket he was wearing. Kitty let the night air blow on her face with the window down and looking over at her carefully while watching the road Brock asked,

"So... what happened between you and the Doc?"

Kitty took a drag off her cigarette and then sighed when she thought about her answer,

"Dr.Venture only ever wants one thing from me. And when you're seeing someone for long enough, you expect things to eventually get taken to the next level. But he doesn't want that. At least, not from me."

Brock was glancing at her in the rear view mirror and could see the forlorn look on her face. Maybe I shouldn't have even brought up the Doc at all, he thought awkwardly to himself and then all he could think to say after that was,

"Fair enough."

Car stopping in front of a fancy looking restaurant, Kitty felt her eyebrows raise with surprise when she saw the place they'd be dining at. She almost never got brought on fancy dates like this. Even as a celebrity, she preferred cute little dive bars or speakeasies she could get a drink at. Following Brock inside the restaurant, Kitty could see there was a dance floor and at the far end of the restaurant was a door that led to a bar in the back. Watching the dance floor, then seeing a couple sitting together, Kitty felt herself say,

"This is what I was talking about. Rusty would've never brought me somewhere nice like this..."

"Maybe you should try to get your mind off Doc, Kitty." Brock said, trying to help her mood a bit and this is when Kitty finally stared at Brock and his muscular body in a way she never had before. Brock always sort of intimidated her... but maybe it was because of how tall and muscular he was. Eyes widening with surprise, Kitty tried her best to not look nervous and felt her face turn slightly red for a moment,
