In the kitchen, Aarya was making soup in a pot on the stove with the help of Tanish when Aarav arrived. Upon seeing Aarav, Tanish walked out of the kitchen, leaving them alone.
Aarav was standing against the kitchen counter, watching Aarya's every move from behind without her knowing he was there.
"Is there a reason why you've been staying in your room and avoiding me? Did I do something to upset you?"
Aarya turned around and saw his serious face, which startled her. How does she respond? "No, it's not because of you. I was just trying to remember something about my father in my room. It's been three weeks since I arrived here in February, and there's still no progress. There's only a week left until March," she said.
"You remember that I promised to help you and I haven't forgotten, but it wasn't right to lock your room and refuse to open it for me,".
"I was meditating," she falsely claimed to have been meditating, knowing that he knew she was lying. She had meditated for three days straight, so what is it that she's afraid of?
She only had to open the door when she knew they wouldn't cross paths - he was either in his room or at the office. Now she felt silly for hiding from him when there was no need to.
"Will we be going out today?" He asked.
"I'd prefer to continue meditating if that's alright."
"Are you avoiding me because of Tanu's words? If that's the case, you shouldn't be worried, right? Do you think you'll fall in love with me?" Aarav walked towards her, leaving only a small gap between them.
"I assure you I won't fall in love with you,"
"I have faith in you, but you can't keep hiding from me. What's on the stove?"
"I heard your mother coughing and sneezing yesterday, so I thought I should make the same cough remedy that I made for the children at the orphanage,"
"Thank you. Do you miss the children?".
"I can't help but feel their absence and miss them. If I ever find my father, it doesn't matter if he'll accept me or not - I'm going back to that orphanage,".
Aarav comforted her by placing his hands on her shoulders and said, "You'll find him without a doubt, and he'll be thrilled to have you. What Shivansh and Tanu said is true - I'm not good with people, but I feel different with you."
Aarya's face lit up with a smile.
"You know what?"
"What?"
"Congratulations, you've just earned a pre-friendship point,"
Aarya couldn't help but laugh. "Can you explain what a pre-friend is?"
She turned back to check the soup and turned off the gas, realizing it was done
With a chuckle, Aarav retrieved a bowl and spoon from the cupboard and handed them to her, "Helevel before you become a full friend," he explained.
