Shawn

I woke up this morning with a massive head ache. I could not sleep at all last night it was horrible. I felt so bad for hitting that girl. I really need to go see her and apologize to her.

I decided that after breakfast I would drop by the hospital, so I could finally get all of this guilt off my chest.
-
As I headed off to the hospital I recieved a text from Andrew, which was odd. He was always so M.I.A lately.

Andrew: Hey bro I just wanted to see how you were doing, I heard what went down yesterday. Hope your not too hard on yourself call me if you need anything?

Wow. News travels fast.

Me: Oh, well I'm good dude, but thanks for looking out.

When I reached the hospital I took in a deep breath and got out of the car.

Once inside, I asked for Jade's location. Apparently she was on floor eight room 587. Thirty minutes later I found her room and walked in quietly. Should I have knocked? Ehh.

She was asleep as I approached her bed side. Shaking her slighty, she began to open her eyes; which mind you are hazel and amazing.

"Chase? Is that you?" She asked softly.

Chase?

"No. It's Shawn... I just came by to check on you." I reply with confusion laced in my voice.

"What?!" Now she's awake. "Who are you?" She asks, in shock.

Um, how do I put this: yesterday I hit you with my car and nearly killed you.

"I was the one who 'accidentaly' hit you with my car." I reply aplogetically, emphasizing the word 'accidentally' to make sure she knew it was all and accident.

"Oh, um I'm guessing you hit me pretty hard, huh?" She says jokingly.

Yes."Um not really I mean your fall was hard, but not so much the hit." I say unconvincingly.

"Oh, was it now? I mean here I am on this bed in one of the places that I dread the most.."

"What do you mean dread?" I question.

"It's nothing. I just really don't want to be here is all." She states.

"Hey I'm really sorry, I should have been more careful. I had no intention of hurting you or anyone for that matter." My words are rushed.

"Hey, it's fine. I'm fine so you don't have to worry, it means a lot that you came here to check up on me." She smiles.

Her smile was amazing.

"Um-m yeah it's n-nothing really. It's the least I could do." I stutter.

"Thank you, really." She does it again. Her smile will be the death of me.

"I'm going to head out see you soon? Hope you feel better." I begin to exit when I'm stopped by her voice.

"W-wait. Do you mind staying around longer? I- this place gives me the creeps and I really don't want to be alone right now."

I couldn't find the words to answer.

"Hey it's fine if you don't want-"

"No, of course I'll stay it's not a big deal." I finally cut in.

"Are you sure? I don't want you to feel like you have to or-" I cut her off again.

"Really it's fine."

For the next three hours we just sat there talking about random things as well as intrests and personal things. It was fun to talk to someone about things that didn't usually get talked about.

Just as I'm about to exit the room someone opens the door. "Oh, um who are you? Are you a friend of Jades?" The woman asks. This must be her mom.

"Oh yeah I just came to check in on her. But I was just leaving."

"Oh you can stay if you'd like I didn't mean to startle you. Im Jess by the way Jade's guardian." She informs me, while holding out her hand.

I kindly shake her hand, "Nice to meet you, I'm Shawn."

"Nice name Shawn, hope to see you around sometime?" She says, but comes out more like a question.

"Yeah of course, I might be down here tomorrow if I'm not busy."

"Alright Shawn, see you tomorrow then." She replies.

As I'm leaving I kindly request, "Do you mind telling Jade I said goodbye?"

"Of course, no problem. Bye Shawn." She calls out.

"Bye." And I'm gone.
