Shawn

Once I left the hospital I saved Jade's number to my phone. I was surprised she even gave it to me considering we just met, and I kind of ended her up in the hospital.

Me: Hey it's Shawn. Just making sure you get my number. ;)

Jade: Got it :)

I didn't really know what else to say, so I decided to leave the hospital parking lot.

Once I got home it was still pretty early, so I decided to finally go to guitar class. To be honest I was pretty excited, I hadn't been in a while so this should be interesting.

Whenever I got the chance to participate in anything including singing or the guitar, I was down.

As I arrived at 'Larry's Guitar Lessons' I noticed how weird it was for this place to be called, 'Larry's Guitar Place' when the instructors name was Kevin. Now that I think of it, Kevin is pretty cheap, probably didn't feel like spending extra money on the name.

When I got inside I was welcomed with the smell of pinsol. I've always loved that smell. Wierd. I know. They probably just got finished mopping or something.

After 20 minutes of looking for Kevin, he finally found me.

Kevin was the owner of "Larry's Guitar Lessons". I've been knowing him since I was 9. He has always been there for me for as long as I can remember. He always helped out my mom when she was struggling, and even gave her a job one time. He was a very cheap old man, but that didn't mean he was a bad person. He was probably one of the most honest and humblest people I knew to be honest.

"Hey Shawn, finally decided to stop being a stranger I see," Kevin said knowingly.

" If that's how you wish to see it," I shrugged.

"Ahh, you know I'm messin' with you Shawn, you know your always welcome here...as long as you're bringing in the $300 a month," He joked, but knowing Kevin's cheap self, he was beyond serious.

I chuckled lightly, "Only you Kev, only you."

"Always."

After finally getting some practice in I decided to head home. When I reached the house my mom wasn't home, but Aliyah was. Which was strange considering that my mom never let her leave her sight.

"Hey Aliyah, where's mom and why are you alone?" I heard her sniff a little bit.

"Shawn..." she started off slow.

"What Aliyah?! What happened?!" I was now panicing.

"S-she..she had..a.."

"What Aliyah? She had a what? Spit it out!" I demanded, my patience quickly wearing away with every second that passed.

"She had a heart attack Shawn! Okay? She had a freaking heart attack!" She yelled.

I could'nt believe what I was hearing.

"No no no no no.." uncontrolled tears were now falling from my eyes. "Aliyah tell me she's okay."

"I only know as much as you. They haven't called me." She replied.

"Why wouldn't you go with her?" I asked confused.

"They didn't let me. And before you ask, yes I tried to get on the ambulance with her,but they pulled me out. I tried, I really did." She was crying now.

"It's alright." I reassured her while walking over to her and bringing her into an embrace. "C'mon lets go to the hospital." She nodded and we collected ourselves then left.
