TO KEEP TRACK of everyone, Val and EJ had them fill out papers about themselves. When Phoebe was done filling out hers, she took it over to Maddox who would also be taking her picture. "Hey, Gadget."

"Bumblebee," Maddox grinned. Phoebe smiled and got ready for the picture, however as Maddox raised the camera, Phoebe got distracted. It was Ricky's turn to audition and he sounded beautiful. "Are you two a thing?"

"What?" Phoebe blinked, her head snapping back over to Maddox. "Me and Ricky? No. No. He's one of my best friends. Um. . . let's take my picture now."

Phoebe smiled again, allowing Maddox to take her picture. Once she was done with that, she watched the rest of Ricky's audition. She gave him a thumbs up when he was done before walking onstage.

"I was wondering if I could audition with my own song?" she looked at Val and then EJ. "If that's okay with you."

"Sure, yeah," Val nodded. "Do your thing."

Phoebe walked down the stairs of the stage and grabbed her notebook from Clara before walking over to the piano. "This is called Wake Up, it's an original song that I wrote."

Phoebe placed her fingers on the right keys and began playing. She wasn't going to play the whole song since there was still a lot more people they needed to see. "Wake up, wake up if it's all you do. Look out, look inside of you. It's not what you lost, it's what you'll gain raising your voice to the rain. Wake up your dream and make it true. Look out, look inside of you. It's not what you lost. Relight that spark, time to come out of the dark. Wake up. Wake up."

Phoebe closed her eyes, losing herself in the music. "So wake that spirit, spirit. I wanna hear it, hear it. No need to fear it you're not alone, you're gonna find your way home. . . Wake up, wake up if it's all you do. Look out, look inside of you. It's not what you lost, it's what you'll gain raising your voice to the rain. Wake up your dream and make it true. Look out, look inside of you. When you're feeling lost, relight that spark, time to come out of the dark. Wake up. Wake up."

Phoebe opened her eyes and grabbed her stuff as everyone clapped for her before walking over to Clara. She was confident that her audition went well and even if she didn't get Anna, she'd be okay.

"Where are the scripts?" Kourtney wondered when the singing auditions were over.

        "Scripts?" EJ repeated.

"For the scene work auditions?" Gina added.

"We're doing a show with no scripts?" Carlos questioned. "What is this? Curb Your Enthusiasm?"

"Yo, Mr. Director-Man." Ricky raised his hand. "Where do you want us all to stand?"

It didn't take a genius to know that EJ was getting overwhelmed with everyone's questions. Phoebe frowned, he'd never done anything like this before.

"Can everyone just wait one second? Please?" EJ pleaded.

"What if they all just, uh, acted out the lyrics from the songs. You know, like a dramatic reading." Maddox suggested, clearing her throat. "I don't know. I'm just a stage manager."

"No, that's brilliant," Phoebe assured her the same time Gina did.

During Kourtney's audition, the doors opened. Everyone turned around to see a boy. "Sorry," Maddox crossed her arms. "Auditions started over an hour ago."

"It's okay," EJ stopped the boy from turning around. "Everyone's welcome to try out."

"I'm not so sure about this," the boy walked further into the barn.

"Nobody's judging you," EJ reassured him as Ricky walked down and handed him his music.

"For the first time in forever," the boy started singing. "I'm getting what I'm dreaming of. A chance to leave my lonely world." Phoebe got off the stage and headed over to the piano. "A chance to find true love. For the first time in forever. . ." The boy looked over to her in uncertainty but she nodded, urging him to continue. "We're no longer shut outside. For the first time in forever, the gates are open wide. Oh, I know it all ends tomorrow, so it has to be today. 'Cause for the first time in forever, for the first time in forever, nothing's in my way."

Phoebe grinned. He sounded amazing. Phoebe, along with everyone else, clapped for him. The boy, however, handed Phoebe the music and walked out of the barn.

When auditions were over, Phoebe took her notebook and sat against a tree. A dam had broken earlier, filling her head with all sorts of ideas. The whole summer, Phoebe had seen Instagram posts and stories of Gina and EJ. EJ took her on a lot of the same dates he took Phoebe on, did a lot of stuff that he did with Phoebe. She just couldn't help but wonder if trying to copy Miss Jenn today wasn't the only thing that gave him deja vu.

She wasn't able to finish the song because of dinner and then it getting dark quickly. Everyone in the cabin was decorating their bunk. She didn't bring much to do that, just a few pictures. Jack being confused by the piano while Phoebe attempted to explain from beside him, her dad making them breakfast one morning, Jack and James playing a game of Uno (Jack was losing). Phoebe let out a breath, feeling a bit more at ease now.

She had some pictures of her friends. Her and Clara going on a late night drive one night, Nick in the back of the car that same night looking incredibly grumpy because Phoebe took his place, Nini when she slept over at Phoebe's house. Phoebe frowned at the picture of Nini, wishing she was at camp with them.

"Hey, did Maddox ever come back after dinner?" Gina asked, coming out of the bathroom.

"She probably has some super top secret important camp tradition business to attend to," Kourtney commented bitterly.

"Is it bad to say she's kind of a lot?" Ashlyn spoke up.

"Ashlyn, do you realize that you are the one saying that?" Clara looked at her.

"Maddox is great," Phoebe insisted. "She's really sweet."

Kourtney and Ashlyn shared a look, humming.

"Guys, she's harmless," Gina told them.

Phoebe looked between Ashlyn and Kourtney, wondering why the two most supportive girls she knew were acting so sour towards someone. Especially when that someone was incredibly nice and sweet.
