The Crush

The kids were all sitting at a table in the Smash Mansion's dining hall after a round of training.

"Man, training sure does work up an appetite, am I right guys?" Ness asked, eating a ham and cheese sandwich

"Mhm!" Toon Link confirmed. Villager also nodded his head in agreement. Both were eating pb and js

"Yes. You're right Ness. Lucky for me that Miss Palutena packs such lovely food for me!" said Pit, who was eating a salad

"Yeah." said Lucas who also had a ham and cheese sandwich

Just then, Nana and Popo, the Ice Climbers,  walked up holding trays.

"Hey guys." said Popo

"Hello!" said Nana

"Oh hey guys. What's up?" asked Ness

"Nothing much. We were just wondering if you guys would like to play with us out on the Mansion lawn later."

"Sure thing. We can all go out after we're done eating." said Ness

"Alright. See you then. Bye guys." said Popo

"Bye!" said Nana

Ness looked over at Lucas and realized he was smiling and blushing, as he held his head up with his arm, while looking towards the Climbers, specifically at Nana.

"Uuh Lucas? Hello? Earth to Lucas!" Ness said waving his hand in Lucas's face.

"HUH WHAT? Looking at who? I wasn't looking at anyone!" Lucas said still blushing. Ness gave him a smug look as the others, including Pit, tried not to laugh.

"You've got a crush on Nana, don't you Lucas?" Ness asked

"N-NO! PFFT, WHY WOULD I? I mean yeah, she is pretty, and cute, and nice, and...oh...erm, well, I."

Lucas sighed.

"Ok fine. I like her." Lucas said blushing

"There's nothing wrong with it you know dude. I mean, me and Paula are dating." said Ness

Villager nodded and pointed to the Female Villager at a different table.

Toon Link audibly agreed and pointed to Toon Zelda, who was also sitting at another table.

"See Lucas, we've all got someone. Well, except for Pit. He's a single pringle." Ness said

"HEY!" Pit yelled

The others, including Lucas, all burst into laughter.

"But Ness, how do I tell her?" Lucas asked

"Just be yourself bro. Don't worry, we'll help, right guys?" Ness asked

Toon Link and Villager both exclaimed happily.

"Of course we'll help you Lucas!" said Pit

"You can tell her when we go play on the Mansion lawn with them later." said Ness "But in the meantime, we can go around and ask some of the adult Smashers for advice. If that's ok with you Lucas."

"Well, I guess it is." said Lucas

"Why don't we start with Lady Palutena? She's the best advice giver I know!" suggested Pit

"Good idea Pit. How about we ask a few boy and girl Smashers for advice? That way we can understand what it's like from both sides."

"I think that's a splendid idea! Let's go see Palutena first!" said Pit

"Alright. Toonie, Vil, why don't you two go and pick out some outdoor stuff to play with while me and Pit help Lucas?" said Ness

The two young Smashers nodded and rushed off. They had all finished their food, so the rest also got up to go find Palutena.
