Far off in the distance, she could see the town from where she had been killed. From this vantage point, at the top of a hill where the graves lie, the town seemed light years away. The memories created there, visibly played through her mind. Behind the town is the large woods full of large woody trees with small red and pink bushes full of flowers at the bottom of the tree, the green tops of the trees reaching high up to the clouds. She looked on from her permanent post atop the hill, as tears build up in her soulless eyes and ran down her frozen cheeks making two small puddles in the dirt below her.

How did all this come to be? Why didn’t the others understand? She felt she’d committed no wrong in giving her love to Katelyn. After all, she too was saintly. Why did the townspeople forbid the loving someone of the same gender?

She had been trailing through the market, somewhat distracted from the task of buying fruit, veggies, and berries, when she paused to look around. She felt she was being watched, but not by the guards whose job it was to protect the town and the surrounding areas. At first, she didn’t see her. Something moved, causing one of the carts to rustle. It could have been anything really, the town was full of little kids, who would run around the carts and stray cats who like to look for free meals.

As she reeled in her thoughts, concentrating back on the task at hand again, she continued on her way. Suddenly, the air was filled with a soft thumping sound, as her heart began to beat a rhythm yet unknown to her. Then she saw Katelyn. Tall, fair-skinned, blue eyes, dressed in a long beautiful dark blue dress. As their eyes met, without a spoken word, the thumping and pounding escalated.  She had been warned by her parents about loving the same gender, but she was not afraid. They were drawn together by a peaceful, deliciously intoxicating force. Now, face to face, they silently joined fingers as she felt their souls come forth to caress each other.
