It was the beginning of September and the autumn weather hadn't come yet. It was still hot outside and moving was not fun to do in the heat. I had a great summer before now; I had done many things with friends including senior trip, parties, and other things. They were fun and grand times, but now I had to focus. This was my freshman year of college and it was a big step. You spend your whole life going to school by getting ready at your house and leaving with your parents. Today I was moving to my school. I was going to be within walking distance of every single class I had, and I was going to be on my own. My parents and my little sisters helped move my stuff; they helped unload the boxes and bring them inside. The car was finally empty and my dorm room was filled, or at least half-way filled because my roommate was not here yet. My parents shed some tears, and then they headed on the 3 hour trip back home. It was a weird day. My parents just dropped me off at my new home. It was a day I wasn't prepared for.
I had received a full scholarship to Notre Dame. I had straights A's in high school. I had no idea how, it was just very simple. I never studied much and passed all of the tests. It seemed a little too easy, yet lots of people failed. Now that high school was over though, it was time for the next step. I wanted to be an OBGYN nurse. I thought it would be a good job for a gal like me. Since school was easy, this could be a challenge for me. I liked the thought of being able to produce tiny little humans in a woman's body. It was strange, but a pretty cool idea. It was nine months of making another body inside of yours. That's something I would like to be around. Yeah, you can call me weird.
I started to unpack the boxes that contained decorations for my new room. I had pictures of my family and friends from all the times we had spent together. I put them on a cute little string hanger for pictures. I then took out the same alarm clock my parents had given me on the first day of freshman year. I put it on the small table next to my bed. It reminded me of the first day of freshman year. That was so long ago that I couldn't believe it; it felt like that was just yesterday. I took out figurines from trips I had gone on with my family, and other little things. I finished unpacking my clothes and got bored of unpacking. I decided that I would explore the campus. I figured if I was going out I should look decent. I changed my blue blouse, to a green one that suited my eyes better. I pulled my hair out of the messy pony tail it had been in and brushed through it. I fixed up my makeup, and I decided that I looked nice. I headed off to check out the rest of my new home.
I made it to a part of the school where people had set up tables to sign up for clubs. I looked at the clubs they had. I needed something to do because my classes were only three days a week. They had many to choose from; some clubs interested me and some didn't. They had martial arts club, guitar club, singing club, dancing club, poetry club, and so much more. I had no idea what to choose. While I was wandering through the world of clubs, a guy on his phone bumped into me. I didn't fall, but I was knocked pretty hard. After I stumbled, I looked at him and all he did was mouth sorry. Usually something like that would piss me off, and I would have been angrier if he wouldn't have been so darn cute. He had this blonde hair that was styled in a quiff. He had jolly rancher blue eyes, and his shirt showed his muscles. He had a lip piercing; I don't like lip piercings, but it suited him well. He took my breath away with just a quick glance at him. He disappeared from my view, and I didn't worry about being mad. He was too cute to be mad at.
I continued to look through the clubs. A lot of the clubs seemed interesting, but I figured I should only sign up for one. I thought about it more and I signed up for guitar club. I knew how to play a little and I wanted to get better. It would be just a little something to occupy me in the times I didn't feel like dealing with school. It would also be a great way for me to make some new friends. All of my friends lived back home, which was three hours away. I wouldn't be seeing them much, so I could make some new ones.
I was feeling tired from moving all of the stuff today, so I went back to my room. There were some boxes that needed to be unpacked, but I really didn't feel like going through them. I decided to take a nap so I turned my phone off so nothing could wake me up. I fell asleep and stayed asleep for a while. I dreamed of the hot boy who bumped into me. It was a nice dream. I just wish it happened in real life.
