You were currently sitting in a chair in Mom's office waiting for Ray. You already gave your report, and now it was his turn. He finally came in and something was different. Something changed.
"You're late." Mom still wore the same smile she wore every day.
"I was talking to Norman." Ray took a seat next to you.
"And?"
"Nothing much has changed. They're focused on training with tag. The bigger issue is Sister. She's on the move again. You should be careful. But I'm sure [Y/N] already told you that."
"I see."
You sighed and looked to the floor. "You shouldn't have called her. She was supposed to keep me and Ray in check, right?"
"Wow, six full years and you still don't fully trust me. I might cry." Ray leaned back keeping his focus on Isabella.
"It was just a precaution. But I hope you're aware, had you kept those two away from the gate that day, this wouldn't be happening." Mom didn't trust Ray, and you could feel that she was no longer as comfortable talking to you as before.
"I already told you, I was doing chores elsewhere and by the time I knew what they were doing, they were already at the gate. Not my fault." You crossed your arms and put one leg on top of the other.
"I already apologized for that."
"I'd never thought you'd be useless dogs who couldn't keep watch." You grew annoyed with Mother's remarks, and a scowl began to form on your face.
"We made up for that by spying on them for you. We sold out our best friends, and reported Sister Krone's disturbing behavior in detail." Ray was no longer smiling. He didn't know that you had been reporting his suspicious behavior as well. You felt really guilty, but it was to only way to survive. "So we need our rewards."
"Of course. That is our deal."

'Tick... Tok... Tick... Tok... Tick... Tok' You sat in bed at night swinging your legs. Mother wanted to speak with you privately, and staying up until then was easy.
You counted as each sibling fell asleep. You got up and placed your hand on Yvette's cheek and hummed an old lullaby Mom had taught you. She called it "Leslie's Melody." Inspired by a dear friend.
