(Author's Note: We shall be calling this nameless friend Chingu! APPARENTLY it means buddy is Japanese. Which I mean that's cool and all and very aesthetic to be calling your friend buddy 24/7. But until we all agree on a name she shall be called Chingu)

---

You both were contemplating how you were going to pay rent this month when your friend broke the silence "Maybe we could try to work at a restaurant?" You both did have restaurant experience, however you both already worked at every place that was hiring. Small village means no new shops. You were about to tell her this when some other ad caught your eye.

Hiring: Maid with Benefits (Bonus for Referrals!)
Live-in maid(s) and companion(s) for group of bachelors. The duties included are, but are not limited to; residential cleaning, domestic cooking, grocery shopping, and keeping lonely residents company as needed. Compensation will be offered in the form of free room and board per candidate, as well as financial payment depending on experience as well as referral program. Open Interviews in Conference Room of Town Hall on (today's date) at (an hour away from current time). Hiring civillians on the spot.

"What about this one, Chingu?" You asked your friend showing her the ad. Immediately regretting it. Something about the wording seemed too - off. If it wasn't for the word 'bachelors' you'd assume this was a senior friendship center. It didn't seem legit, honestlt. As if reading your mind your friend laughed.

"What is this, some kind of scam?" She got up and stretched looking at the time. "Even if it is, we might as well try. We've either worked at, or applied, every other place here!" Chingu had a point - and it was almost time for the open interviews. As you and her got ready, you both made sure to rehearse your reference for each other: just incase they separated you. I mean, a referral program doesn't nessescarily mean they'll hire you both.

When time came, you both left to arrive at a line of people already waiting to be interviewed. There were young men, women, and some tweens in line. It seemed like the interviews already started as a man with the same color  long hair, much like your friends, came out in suit to usher the next person inside. Sometimes it seemed like multiple people would go in at the same time.

"Seems like they'll probably let us interveiw together?" Chingu mentioned as she watched another pair leave the room and walk away. You asked if she thought they were just telling those they didn't want to leave outright. "Seems like it!" Her voice was chipper and more excited as the number dwindled. Looking around there was no one behind you.

Eventually it just was you and Chingu. The man came out and asked "You two are together, correct?". Nodding, you both got up and followed him inside. There was a simple table with a woman sitting on the other side and an empty chair. The man sat next to the woman and for your names and ages.

"You both understand that this job requires some detailed companionship, correct?" The woman asked outright. Finally it hit you. Bachelors. Lonely. Civillian. No wonder the tweens and men were immediately turned away. They weren't just seeking a maid - but before you could speak, your friend did.

"Of course! Do you think we didn't?" You nodded, although blushing. The woman and man across from you both nodded before speaking quietly amongst themselves for a moment. Chingu looked at you and shrugged whispering "What's the worst that could happen?". Honestly you didn't know. But, at this point you didn't care.

After a shirt discussion about names, background, work experience, and if you had any family, the conversation veered back into the sexual nature. It caused you to blush once again.

"Have either of you had any STDs, or previous partners who had stds?" The man's deep voice broke up the conversation between you two. You both had agreed no. The pair in front of you mentioned there would be a screening for you both along with the residential bachelors consistently. If something were to turn up the employment would be nullified.

"How many.. bachelors.. are there?" You still were hesitant on the matter and wanted more of the nitty gritty details. The woman smiled at your questions before answering swiftly.

"There are over 10, however do not expect them to all be within the home for long periods of time. Due to their employment there may be stretches of time where it is just the two of you in house. That time will be utilized by cleaning, meal prepping, and having leisure time. We do not expect both of you to work 24/7 when it comes to cleaning or cooking. Companionship takes priority."

"You mean fucking?" You asked. It made Chingu laugh but the woman answered kindly.

"Yes. Since we would be hiring you both, you each would get your own room and board for free. Then each paid 4,000 ryo a month."

Both you and Chingu's mouths almost dropped at that. 8,000 ryo a week between the two of you is more than you both ever made a month. Especially when working at seedy restaurants, hotels, and cleaning services. You were unsure but willing to try if Chingu was. Looking at her cautiously, to signal her support, you asked on last question. "How long is this employment for and how many people are you hiring?"

"Right now we are looking at only hiring the two of you for as long as your willing to work for us." The man spoke before getting up, "We will leave you two alone for a moment to discuss and see where you stand."

As they left, you and Chingu talked. It was a lot more money than usual - but probably going to have to have sex, maybe often. "Maybe never?" Chingu reminded you. "Maybe they just have weird kinks and fetishes that need fufilled?" Cooking and cleaning is easy. "We got that under our belts. Plus, we do have PTO AND when they're gone we can kinda do what we want?" What if they were ugly? "Blindfolds." You both looked at each other before bursting into giggles.

It was settled. You'd both accept. It was better than being no-lifes here scrounging up trouble via poverty. Once you two calmed down the woman and man walked in. "We agree." The pair explained that you would meet them tonight with nothing. "Nothing?" Chingu asked confused.

"All ammenities, including clothing, will be provided for. If you'd like anything extra, you will purchase it as needed from your own salary when you do the grocery shopping."

You mean, it made sense, but kind of sucked. You and Chingu were atleast used to most uniforms so it didn't matter. As you both left you prepared as best as you could for your new adventure - atleast you were not alone. You looked at Chingu and proclaimed "We're maids with benefits!"

So it began, the true adventure of a lifetime.
