The monster stared at Marie. Marie stared back. The monster took a step towards her. She froze in fear.

The monster made a chirping noise, almost innocent sounding. Marie stepped around the corner she was standing at.

She picked up a hat that the man had dropped. She had no clue what she was doing. The monster scittered up to her, towering over her.

Marie gulped. She handed the hat to the monster, closing her eyes as she prepared for inevitable fate.

She opened her eyes to find she wasn't dead. The hat was gone, and so was the monster.

Marie collapsed to her knees, still in shock. She breathed a sigh of relief. She found herself crying in an alley at 10:00 at night.

The next morning she woke in her apartment. She had nothing to do that day, so she thought she would go back to the Rare bird to see how Lucille was doing.

"Such an odd dream." She mumbled to herself as she walked onto the street.

She got there about ten minutes later. She walked in and walked straight to Lucille's dressing room.

"Mademoiselle, do you need anything?"

"I thought you were off today! Go home!" Lucille cried.

"But--"

"No buts! Go home!"

Marie walked outside and glanced at a poster on the wall. She read it outloud to herself.

"A strange creature has been seen in the streets of Paris? It's seven feet high? Don't go out alone at night? Oh no."

Marie knew of only one thing that for that description. The monster.

"I must be dreaming." She mumbled to herself.

She walked around the block only to find Lucille calling her name. She had to say, she did like the attention.

"Marie, come help me get changed!"

"Yes mademoiselle."

As Marie was tightening her corset, she asked a question.

"Have you seen a big monster recently?"

"Marie, this is not the best time to be asking questions!"

"Yes, but--"

"No more questions! I have to finish getting ready!" Lucille said while grabbing a different purple dress then the one she had on.

Marie sat in the rare bird and waited for a while. She did get an employee discount. She might as well see what all her hard work looked like. And seeing Lucille was also a giant advantage.

She took a long nap as the day passed her by. By the time she woke up the place was starting to bustle.

She went backstage to hear Albert trying to sing. He tried hard. She was about to knock when the door burst open as Albert walked out in a huff.

"Lucille?" Marie asked.

"What is it Marie?!"

"I was just wondering how you were doing! Making sure you were prepped for the show!"

"I'm doing fine and the show will go great!"

Just then a bell rang. Over and over and over.

Lucille sighed. "Let me go get that."

"I'll come with you!"

"Fine, but only if you'll shut up!"

Thunder clapped outside as the bell rang one last time.
