Ryker's P.O.V.

As Ryker slept close to his friends his ears flicker at the sound of paw steps.
"WHAT'S THIS!!" everyone woke up with a start as Ruth screeched out loud. Ryker felt his heart sink seeing that his foster mother was pissed off after all. Izzy looked alarmed as the liepard turns her sharp green glare on her. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" she shouted out loud. Izzy began shaking looking almost as if the liepard was going to attack her. "Eek!!" she screamed but as she tried to flee the den only for Ruth cut her off and block her from leaving. "Not so fast missy! You're in big trouble! I know your parents have no idea you are here, I'm going to inform that on them that tonight when I take you home." then she turned to Ryker. "Ryker tell me was this your idea? And don't lie to me!" Ryker felt intimidated seeing how upset the liepard was. Is it normal for most mons to get this mad over sneaking a friend over? Ryker's voice was shaking as he tried to speak. "I...i..it... I-it w.w.wa-was-"
"Spit it out already!"
"IT WAS ME!!" Rusty burst out.
Then as Ruth turns a shocked expression on him and he began to shake a bit. He took in a deep breath and then continued. "I just wanted Izzy to hang out..."
"How dare you... How dare you talk to me like that, you little brat!" she shook her head in a disapproving way. "You two are no good, you're a little brat who thinks you can just go wherever you like!" then she pointed at Rusty next. "And you! You're a bad influence on my innocent Ryker, your nothing but trouble... Oh and if you breathe out one word of this to your father, then I will make sure you surely regret it." the way she said it in such an icy tone made Ryker's skin crawl that sounded like a threat. They all sat there staring at Ruth in shock not sure how to react until she slammed her front paw down. "Don't just sit there starting! Your parents are waiting for you!"
"Hey, Ruth? Is everything ok?" came the familiar voice of Mavericks. For a few seconds, Ryker was relieved until he realized that the shiny Thievul had only just arrived he hadn't heard anything that Ruth said. (If he wasn't waiting outside then where was he?)
"Oh... Yeah, I'm fine I just need to take this young Eevee home."
"Izzy?... Well, I have to pass her den anyway, I might as well take her."
Both Izzy and Rusty looked relieved.
For a few seconds, the liepards green eyes blazed furiously, then she sighed in defeat. "That's nice of you.... I'll see you tomorrow."
"Alright then, come Rusty, Izzy say bye to Ryker." they both gave him a comforting look. "Bye Ryker..." Rusty said then Izzy patted him on the shoulder as she walked past him. Ryker watched as they both left wishing he could go with them or disappear he wasn't ready to face the Consequences. As it was just him and Ruth he sat there with his head down waiting for a big unpleasant lecture from his foster mom, but to his surprise, she seemed to calm down once his friends were gone. "I'm not going to shout at you Ryker, it isn't your fault after all if Rusty doesn't want to listen." he felt a bit puzzled it was almost as if she knew what happened. Then she got up and padded for the den exit. "Come on, I think it's time to learn a move or two for you." Ryker felt a bit uneasy about going out to battle train at this hour. He followed Ruth out of the den and then kept padding after her as she led him to where there was an opening in the trees giving them some space. He gave a shiver as he kept glancing up through the trees trying to see the moon but it was a dark cloudy night. Just a perfect time for this. He thought sarcastically to himself as he gave another shiver. "Ok." Ruth began as she sat down. "I want you to learn swift attack, try and focus on me before you fire your attack. "But that's a far-ranged move, can't it be something more simple?"
"Just give it a try."
He rolled his eyes then did his best he was able to make one star and hit Ruth with it. "Not bad you almost got it," he repeated the move about five more times before he got it right. He felt a rush of excitement once he got the hang of it. "Great job Ryker, now I think it's time we head back, tomorrow I will be paying a visit to Izzy's parents." now he felt alarmed. "What? But she was just-"
"Don't try and defend her Ryker! She's in the wrong her parents should have every right to know how often she sneaks away at night, she's going to get killed if it goes on, I'm doing her a favour." he had to admit that was fair enough and true. But it still worried him about how harshly she would be about it. What if they stop wanting to be my friend seeing how scary Ruth is...
