You continue to slowly shuffle through the remains of Lumiose city, laying low- hiding in the shadows as the sun starts to set. You are low on ammo, and if even two of them jump you- there's no chance of survival. You let out a small groan as you continue to limp forwards. It seemed that your stay in the small home fort made within a tiny facility with the last remnants of humanity was only temporary. On your swift exit however, you injured your leg- and your speed has been reduced significantly. Given the fact you jumped out of a 3 story building window, you quickly realized that you could've ended up much worse. The fact that you can even walk at all is nothing short of a miracle. Everyone else on the other hand....  they weren't so lucky.

You spot two about 50 meters away by a rather large fountain- both basking in the ever distant sun, which by this time had nearly completely set. They still had primal instincts from what you had seen, evident by the fact they let the solar rays hit what was left of their skin. You squint your eyes in an attempt to get a view of them, but your military helmet visor did obscure a noticeable amount of your visibility. From what you could make out, one of them was a woman with what would've been thick dark hair, or at least you think it was. She was missing half of her face and about two fifths of her scalp. You also take note of the other one. Obviously some kind of small Pokémon. Was it an Eevee? You quickly lose interest. You still need shelter. You take a look at the surrounding buildings. All of them in terrible condition, as to be expected. Each structure seeming to have what seemed to be 20 different ways to get inside. Knowing that an infected could just walk in at any time doesn't fill you with confidence- so you search onward.

You sneak past a small crowd of once living trainers, as well as their Pokémon. You didn't take the time to count them as it wasn't worth the risk of staying in the open. You tread around what used to be a bakery and take a route through an allyway to see if you could find a place to stay. Your leg hurts. You can't keep walking forever. Suddenly as you turn a corner you see it. A Poké-center. Whilst it didn't look as inviting as the ones back in the day did- especially with the busted front door and blood splatter on the concrete just outside where the bordered up windows were, it still seemed to actually be a legit hiding place. You take one last look around. There's another small group of infected turning the same corner you just passed. Before they get a visual- you quickly stumble your way into the building. Maybe, if you get lucky enough- you might just survive this hell.

As you enter the building, you look around the once populated hospital. The lights were dim, and not all of them were on- but the building still had some power, likely from the solar panels that were being introduced as the main supply of newer Government funded buildings. To your left you see a rather large crate. After a 30 second work out- you finally managed to shift it in front of the door. Too your right you see what looks to be a large Christmas themed chest. Before the outbreak- at the start of December, many of these were left in Poké-centers for people to donate to the less fortunate. Canned goods, water, ect. Although the likelihood of something being in there, let alone still edible is down right impossible, you still reach out to open the latch, slowly placing your hand on the lid.

BANG BANG BANG!

You pull your hand back- moving away from the box. One of them had to be in there, God knows why. You take a deep breath, you're heart rate spiking. "Holy shit..." you mutter softly. You turn around to get a better look at the rest of the Poké-center, trying to put your focus on something else. The place had seen better days, that was for sure. You knew from the barricades outside that this was once a hold out for survivors, although they had evidently died long ago. You take a look at the front counter. The once vibrant pink top now a faded memory of it's past self. To the right of the counter you saw two hallways. The further seeming to lead to the Pokémon recovery area, the other seeming to be an employees only room, evident by the fact the door read "employees only". Another two doors also sat adjacent to the hallways. Still on high alert, you move towards the set of doors, pulling out a handgun at your side. The first door was locked. You move towards the second. It's also locked.
