Ch. 2 - Mistakes Were Made

*First Day of School*

I woke up to my alarm clock blaring loudly next to my ears, I shut it off and stare at the ceiling. I was thinking about that kiss with Sadie, first she clearly loved it then the next she stormed off. I'm hoping to talk to her about it at school.

I got up and got dressed, and drove to school. Once I got there I see Tessa waving at me.

"Hey girl!" Said Tessa
"What's up. Uhm will you help me find my room?" I ask
"Yeah for sure, what class do you have?" Asks Tessa
"Uhm Pre-Calc with Mr. Carson" I said
"Oh my gosh we're in the same class, cmon let's go" Said Tessa

Before Tessa and I head to class I go check out my locker to put my other stuff away. On the way to class Someone bumps into me, it was one of the basketball jocks.

"Yooo watch we're you're going nerd" Said the jock

I hear his friends laugh. I look up to see all his other jock friends and Sadie laughing aswell.

"You know you bumped into me right?" I said
"I don't bump into nobody. That was all you" He replied
"You know just because you have that varsity jacket doesn't mean you need to be an asshole. Oh actually you probably wear that whenever you need to hide your feminine side" I smile

"OOOOOOO" Said All the jocks

He glares at me intensely.

"Let's go babe, we're going to be late for class" Said Sadie

Babe huh? So this is Sadie's boyfriend. Of course she picks an asshole of a jock.

I made eye contact with her but she looks away and walks to class with her boyfriend.

"That's Jake, captain of the basketball varsity team a.ka Sadie's boyfriend" Said Tessa

I roll my eyes and we head to class. And it turns out that I was also in the same class as Jake and Sadie, I had to sit in class watching them flirt and be all touchy with eachother for an hour.

School ended and I head up to my locker when I see Sadie at hers all by herself. I decided to go over and talk to her.

"Hey" I said
She looks around to see if anyone was around.
"Uhm Hi" She replied
"What? Do I need to be on a lookout for your boyfriend?" I ask
"What?" Sadie said
"You know, I get he's the popular guy at school and you're the popular girl here but it doesn't mean you need to be with a guy who's a dickhead to people and thinks he rules the school" I said
"He's not a dick, you were the one being a dick" She replied
"I was just standing up for myself" I smiled
"Yeah whatever" Sadie rolled her eyes

Sadie was about to walk away but I grabbed a hold of her arm.

"Sadie wait" I said
"What do you want Kai, you've already insulted my boyfriend" Said Sadie
"I was just speaking my truth. But I wanted to talk to you about that night at the party" I said

Sadie looks around to see if anyone heard and then steps closer to me.

"Listen, nothing happened at that party between you and me that was a mistake." Sadie whispered
"You moaning sounded like it wasn't" I smirk
"Shut it Kai or I swear I'll make your first year here hell" Sadie snapped

I chuckle.

"I don't get intimidated by anyone or anything Sadie, don't worry you're secret is safe with me but I know you liked it" I look her up and down with a smirk as I walk away.

Tessa texted me saying that she needed a ride home, we got in the car and she noticed I had a little smile on my face.

"What's up with you?" Asks Tessa
"Hmm nothing" I reply
"Oh my gosh, something happened at that party!" Shouts Tessa
"The fuck how'd you know?" I ask
"The look you just gave me, I'm a really good face reader" she replies
"Welllll, something happened between Sadie and I" I said
"Wait what seriously?!?! You and Sadie?!" Tessa gasps
"We might've had a steamy make out sesh in the pantry" I chuckle
"OH. MY, GOODNESS! Sadie's gay?!" Said Tessa
"I think she's bi but she doesn't know it yet. Which is whyyy I'm going to do my thing and make her realize she wants me over Jake the Jerkface Jock" I smile
"I am sooo glad we're friends, you're pretty cool" Said Tessa
"Thanks Tess" I said

I drop Tessa off at home and head home. Once I got there I had a movie night with my family before I head to bed.

As I layed down in my bed staring at the ceiling I planned out how I was going to get Sadie.
I'll start off by getting close to her and then as she's warming up to me I'm going to get a girlfriend to make her jealous and realize she wants to be with me.

The next day at school I overhear the volleyball coach saying she needed an assistant for the team and so I decided it was a perfect idea to get close to Sadie since she was on the volleyball team.

I knock on Coach Brown's office and she invited me in.

"Hi what can I help you with?" She asks
"Hey Coach, so I heard you were looking for an assistant for volleyball and I think I'm interested in it" I said
"What's your name?" She asks
"Kai, Kai Hayes" I replied
"Now Kai, why don't you just tryout for the team?" Said Coach Brown
"Well I would, but I injured my shoulder a while back from volleyball and the doctors told me I can't do volleyball anymore (That was a lie, I never got injured. I can still play volleyball). But I have really good knowledge of the game." I said
"Hmmm okay, well I am desperate for an assistant coach right now. Okay consider it done, I won't need you at tryouts this weeks so you'll start next week for practice" Said Coach Brown
"Thank you so much Coach" I said

I leave her office and head to class. Step one is complete on to the next.
