My Anime Senpai, Volume 1: How It All Began

Chapter 2

      Chapter II: The Bond and Connections

         The next day, at school, Akiko is wearing an anime jacket with a Haori pattern and since it's the month of August, it's going to rain, therefore she brought her umbrella, and of course with an anime design. Asahi tells Akiko that they will be making a group which is composed of Hanako Nazo and Himari Kimura, Akiko's best friends and in addition, Enmei. They are calling it the Levites, named after a character in a famous anime. On the other hand, Kota also is forming a group which is composed of his friends, having their own nicknames by famous Brotubers as well as the group name followed by a nice icon of the number one youtuber. Though this is online and if it's breaktime in class.

          Though Asahi is in both groups, he still has time after one another. Gladly, the Brotubers are only active at night while the Levites always hangout after class. However, there's one time that Hanako, Himari, and Enmei went home early and Asahi and Akiko was left alone at the gate. Then they walked to the dike while talking about the plot twist of the anime, Avenge of the Titan. A wind breezes to her hair, Asahi then complements the weather and location while Akiko jokes it off. Viewing the expansion arc bridge, she then speaks calmly. She then tells Asahi about Kota that she likes him. So he needs to keep it a secret. Asahi then pretends to call Kota on the phone saying that Akiko has something to say to him. Worried, Akiko stops Asahi but he's just joking.

          In the afternoon, class started again and the teacher starts to explain. The teacher isn't present during the last period so most of the class talked. While they are busy talking to one another, Asahi and Haru approach Kota and they talk about games and speaking of which, they also played. 5 minutes later, Haru goes back to his seat to retrieve his power bank and as Asahi is about to go to another table, he tells Kota that Akiko has something to say to him. Kota is nervous with girls so at that point he is less petrified when Akiko comes up. Before she is going to say it, she is stopped by Satou. Satou asks her how much does  she love him, embarrassed and flustered, she answers that she loves Kota as a friend. She is about to say it to Kota however, she forgot it at that moment.

          At the gate, Kota, Asahi, and Akiko are waiting for their ride. Asahi's ride is there so he goes home. Akiko and Kota is left behind. She is about to say something to Kota but her ride is there. In a palace-like home, she is preparing some lines that she needs to practice before talking to Kota. Back at the Mizushiro Residence, while dinner, Kota's dad asks Kota who was that girl. Kota tells him that she's just his friend. However, they just make fun of him if it was her girlfriend. Kota gives them a scary look and they stop. Kota's mom also reminds him that tomorrow is their exams and to know the Top 10. Kota rushes to his room, reading books from cover to cover.

          It was 10:00 pm where he receives a message from someone. That someone turns out to be Akiko. She is asking for the English homework since she wasn't able to copy it in class and she needs help in understanding it. He teaches her about it and thanks him. In her mind, she complements him about his intelligence.
