-I think we're almost there, we're close-
-I hope so, I'm so tired... - the two sisters looked into each other's eyes as they laid their heavy suitcases on the soft grass to rest their arms. -I really hope we can start over here... -
- That will be so, Sophie, I'm sure that from now on everything will be better... Let's not think about the past... Come on, let's go. It should be behind these trees... - they took back the two suitcases, and walked along that small inlet into the forest, where the sun could barely filter its warm rays. They advanced for a while, until they saw before them a beautiful village. It was not very large, but it was very colorful, full of small houses connected by small paths and above all full of life. In the highest part of the village, on a large hill, there was a beautiful house much larger than those of the village, much more colorful and framed by a beautiful rainbow in the sky. It was late in the evening, and the two tired girls looked for an empty house to live in. To their amazement, the inhabitants were very hospitable with them and managed to find a place to stay. Some children approached intrigued by the new foreigners, beginning to fill them with questions. -Why do you have a dress with waves? - one asked Ann. -Well little one, I have a special power. Since I was a child I can control water. So, see? - and immediately upon the movement of his hand the water inside the small pond rose and began to create wonderful fountains. The children were thrilled, and then they passed to Sophie. -Beautiful dress, it is full of colors! You too have a special power? - asked a little girl. - Unfortunately not, but I love art and I can paint and draw quite well- she smiled. -She is very good, don't listen to her- Ann replied, crossing her arms, smiling at her sister, who smiled back. Sophie began to draw with the children, creating a beautiful mural, while Ann was staring puzzled at the huge house that faced the entire village from the top of that hill. A little girl with curly hair like hers distracted her from her thoughts, gently pulling her skirt to call her back. -What's little girl? - Ann asked, leaning down and smiling at the child. -You have magical powers... Like the Madrigal!-The Madrigal? - the child smiled. -Yes! They are the ones who live in that house, they are the magical family who live here since the village was created, their abuela came here to found it together with other adults when they were young. - Ann turned again to look at that house. Other magical people? So she wasn't that strange maybe... -Well then maybe I'll go and meet them later, thank you girl- and greeted the little girl, ruffling her hair, that laughed and came back to play with the others. Ann went to her sister, full of paint on her face, who was playing with the children, also full of colored spots. -Hey, uh... I put down my bags, I go... I go to greet the Madrigal family-the Madrigal family? - she asked strangely. -Yeah, well, they're like a magical family, that's who lives in that house- Sophie took a look behind Ann, where that house was. -Okay, go ahead, I'll catch up with you later, I'm not presentable like this- she pointed out all the color spots on her face and clothes. Ann laughed, together with the children and Sophie herself. -Okay, then I'll go, see you later sister. -
- Her steps advanced uncertain towards that large and colorful house, which seemed so unusual but also so wonderful. Ann didn't know what she was gonna do when she got to the big door. She kept going up the hill, thinking about what she might say to introduce herself. She didn't want to make a bad impression. The thought that most tortured Ann is that maybe that magical family could know more about the origin of her powers, which was still unknown to her. One step, another, and she finally found herself in front of the door. She extended her arm towards it, closing her fist to knock, but before she could, a tall and very muscular girl opened the door to leave the house. She immediately noticed Ann, standing in front of her, her arm still outstretched, almost touching her chest, and both looked into each other's eyes. Ann was paralyzed, she didn't know what to say, she just kept blushing. So it was the big girl who talked. -Um... Hello, you are one of the new girls, right? My cousin Dolores knew about you... Oh sorry, I introduce myself, I am Luisa Madrigal- smiled shyly. She was very embarrassed too. She was so small and pretty that girl. -Oh... Yes... I... I'm Ann... M-my pleasure... - Ann answered after a few seconds, blushing even more. There was something about her, about Luisa, that she really liked. Maybe that sweet smile, that kindness... -Well please Ann... Oh come in if you want, I'll introduce you to my familia- She looked at Ann and smiled, opening the door gallantly. Ann was very embarrassed, but she walked in with her, and together they headed inside Casita, with the high moon illuminating the whole small village of Encanto.
