It was the middle of the afternoon on the day of the engagement party and Elizabeth sat in her room watching maids rushing around to get her ready for the day. She stands up only to be pushed behind a changing screen and given a luxurious deep purple silk dress to wear at the party. Once she was dressed she was dragged over to her desk by an over eager maid to get her make-up and hair done. After she was ready and the maids left she set her plan into action. She took out her letter from its hiding place and placed it on her pillow so no one would notice it until she was gone and they were searching her room. She grabbed a bag of stuff she wanted to take with her and money for food and clothes and threw it out the window for Marcus to grab. After she had completed the first steps of the plan she left to meet Alexander so they could make their official entrance to the party.
Elizabeth got to the door of the room where the party was being held and saw Lord Alexander, walking over to him before greeting him,
"My Lord shall we enter the party?"
"Indeed, also there's no need to be so formal we'll be married soon" Alexander replied interlinking their hands.
Elizabeth didn't get anytime to react before she heard the butler announcing the two of them and the doors slowly opening, forcing her to calm down and look happy so she could make it to her escape.~~~
After 2 hours of dancing and chatting everyone was distracted by one thing or another so Elizabeth could finally leave to meet Marcus and officialy set their plan into motion. She put down her drink that she had yet to take even a sip of and quietly snuck out of the ballroom, walking down the hallways an exiting the doors leading to the garden where she spotted Marcus and he indicated to the bushes to let her know her disguise was already for her. The disguise was a simple brown wig, olive green dress and a grey cloak.
Once she was ready the two set of to the stables without a word as to not get caught. Getting the horses was difficult because the had to sneak past some guards while they were distracted by their conversation. They went out the back after collecting their rides and left to get to the gate before the guards switched places. Once they reached the gate the two realised that they were just on time to get past since the guards were just getting ready to switch places. They would have to be quick so they didn't get caught. They rode their horses as fast as they could and got past the gate, after a bit they slowed down and started travelling to the village while the party is in chaos looking for the princess.
~~~
Back at the castle the party was panicked, all looking for the princess but she was no where to be found. Lord Alexander is running down the hallways calling for his fiance, he searched the entire castle but Elizabeth was nowhere to be found. When the King found out that his daughter was missing he prepared a nation wide search with a high reward for whoever could return the Princess home. The King went to his daughters room to see if there were any clues on her disappearance he was expecting to see an open window, ripped fabric, a huge mess or some blood but what he didn't expect to see was a perfectly clean room and a letter on Elizabeths pillow adressed to him. He carefully broke the seal and read the letter in which left him speachless and distraught at the fact that his daughter had run away because she wasn't inlove with her fiance or any suitor shes ever had and that she wasnt going to return all because he can't accept this, she has to get married to become Queen and she has to assume the thrown she has no other choice. Enraged, the King yelled for the guards to start go search for the princess immediately before heading back to the party to calm the crowd and send them home.
In the ballroom the crowd of nobels were paniced chatting about what could have happened to the beloved princess. When the King enters everyone turns to him in hope of getting answers about what happened the princess,
"The princess is missing" The King stated.
People gasped and began asking about what happened and what the King was going to do about her dissaperence,
"We don't know what happened but I will do everything I can to find my daughter don't worry we will find her. Although I must ask you all to return to you're homes so the investigation is relitivily easier, I thank you for your co-operation." The King continued before the guests were escoted out. Once everyon had left the fiance approched the King to give his condolences and the king did the same before both of them left to their chambers to rest.~~~
Elizabeth and Marcus had been riding an hour before they finally reached the village. The two of them went to the near by inn to find a place to stay and booked to seperate rooms saying they were siblings so the innkeeper wouldn't be suspicious of them arriving together. The innkeeper directed them to the stable so they could tie up their horses before going to their rooms for the night. The room was simple it had plain white walls and a wooden floor, there were two beds, a set of drawers and a closet. They put their bags down deciding to unpack tomorrow they sit on their beds and think about whats next,
"so what are our plans?" Elizabeth asks,
"We need to get jobs so we can get a place to stay and so we can buy food." Marcus replied,
"Alright then we'll go searching tomorrow, now lets go to sleep." Elizabeth yawns as she heads to the bathroom to change into her sleepwear.
They both get changed and Elizabeth flops face first onto her bed, falling asleep the moment her head hits the pillow. Marcus chuckles to himself before getting into bed and falling asleep aswell.~~~
