Dont mind me just adding in my own made up lore. Also, I don't proofread.

♡♡♡♡♡♡

Mother fucking Ink. You couldn't help but be a little pissed at him, especially since you had just woken up. You were not a morning person. Sleep, that was all you wanted but noooo. Ink decided to shake you awake at 7 in the morning. You don't even wake up that early anymore, not since you stopped doing school. And your shifts were all in the afternoon anyways.

It was a wonder how the damn gremlin didn't wake up the edgier skeleton next to you. You couldn't even be that mad at him either, since he had an excited glint in his eyes. You were more so embarrassed if you were honest since currently, you just so happened to be playing the part of the little spoon.

You shot Ink an annoyed and flustered glare and tried to peel Red's arm, which caused him to grumble and just hold on tighter. Great.

Sighing, you opted to just whisper yell to Ink. "What do you want?!" No you were not fond of being woken up. Ink held up a small chip between his fingers.

"Guess what? I got you a little something! Check it out." You raised your eyebrow at that. Slowly, you raised yourself up until you were in a sitting position, Red's arm now draped over your thighs. "I just have to put it in your phone and then we should be set!" Ink then took your phone from beside you and inserted it in. How he did it, you didn't know.

"And this isn't gonna give me some kind of virus that'll delete everything?" With your hand extended, he gave you back your device and shook his head.

"Of course not! What do you take me for?" You stared at him for a good second. "Actually, don't answer that. What it will do though is allow communication across all the different universes. Including the voids!"

You were a bit skeptical, but maybe its not so unbelievable considering... everything really. From the talking skeletons, to the portal to another AU? "When would I ever have to use it anyways?"

He shrugged. "You never know. Anything could happen I guess. But! Also! I've never tried it with someone like you before!" What. What was that supposed to mean?

Slowly, you nodded your head. "Uh-huh. So... What.. What is that supposed to mean?" You repeated outloud.

Ink nervously scratched the back of his neck. "Oh, nothing really! Just that I've only ever used it with the other me's yknow? Definitely never tried with a human, especially since you don't seem to necessarily be an outcode." Ah. There he goes with that outcode thing. He never explained that, had he?

"Right, yeah. You never told me what an outcode was by the way. If its tech related, I am not good with that, but with the way you describe it, that seems highly unlikely. Is it like, a state of being?"

"I did tell you it wasn't important didn't I? So don't dwell on it too much." Ink laughed out with a little sass. You simply look at him with a puzzled expression.

Red's grip on you tightened as he nuzzled his head into the side of your thigh and grunted. You forgot he was there. "Since the squid refuses ta tell ya what it is, i'll jus' do it." You awkwardly push Red's skull away, and noticing your discomfort, he let go and sat up, letting out a yawn. "'S jus' some one or thing that ain't limited to one AU, an' actively stay outta it if they have one. like yer pal ink over there, an' error. there's lil' subcategories or roles, like protector, destroyer, wanderer, yada yada yada. from the looks of it, ya might become somethin' akin to a wanderer if yer gon' keep AU hopping tryna find home."

You blink, trying to absorb the information he just spewed out. "There's... roles? If Ink and Error are outcodes, then what role do they play?"

Red simply grinned at you. "Ask the man 'imself. imma head down ta get some food." And just like that he was off.
