The Tapering Method

1. Wash your hands

2. Clean your ears with antibacterial soap

3. Wash your plugs/tunnels and taper (take off the o-rings first) with antibacterial soap

4. Massage your earlobes with the natural oil of your choice

5. Coat your taper with the same oil, but not enough that you'll drop it

6. Take the taper, and insert the smaller end into your piercing, and push it through very slowly. If it does not want to go through easily, DO NOT force it through. You are not ready to stretch yet, or you need more oil

7. Try more oil. If it doesn't go through, you aren't ready to stretch. Wait another couple weeks

8. A small stinging sensation (or nothing at all) is normal for most people. If there is pain, you need to stop

9. If you got the taper through easily, that's perfect. Put a small amount of oil onto your plug/tunnel, and line it up to your taper, and follow it into your ear, removing the taper out the back of your ear

10. Put the o-rings onto your plug/tunnel

11. Do the same with your other ear. With almost everybody, one ear is harder to stretch than the other, so once again, DO NOT force anything
