Here are most of the major events/plot points that have happened over the course of the 12 years between the end of episode 9 and the start of the fic:
- Everyone in the council room except for Mel, Jayce, and Viktor are killed in the explosion.
- Caitlyn brings Ren (Marcus's daughter) to Ekko
- Ambessa takes advantage of Mel's unconscious state (she is in a coma after the explosion) and takes her to Noxus.
- Sevika takes Silco's place.
- The Hexcore keeps trying to control Viktor, and in a fit of panic he chops off his right leg and hand
- Jayce finds him bleeding out on the lab floor
- He later expresses to Viktor that the thought of combining humans with technology makes him uneasy
- Piltover, Zaun, and Sevika want war, but Jayce does not and will do anything in his power to stop war
- Vi has a difficult time coming to terms with the loss of her sister
- Jayce's anxiety gets to an unbearable level, causing him to fight with Viktor over his augmentation and his own self neglect
- War breaks out on the bridge
- Viktor fights for the Zaunites
- Jayce thinks that this is his fault and that Viktor hates him
- Ekko and the Firelights refuse an alliance with the council
- Viktor, with the help of Singed, continues augmenting himself, successfully preventing his death
- Heimerdinger begins teaching children science
-Vi disappears
- Mel recovers, but is still trapped at Noxus
- Caitlyn ascends to the position of sheriff, and begins to reform the enforcers
- Viktor meets Naph
- Jayce considers suicide due to overwhelming guilt and a feeling of helplessness
- Jinx blows up the bridge, signifying that she has gone rogue
- Naph gets caught in the explosion, losing a large portion of the right side of his face
- Viktor augments his face to save him
- Viktor adopts Naph
- Viktor, now known as The Machine Herald in his mostly metal form, has become a symbol of hope and rebellion for the Zaunites
- Jayce, known as The Defender of Tommorow, is seen by some as a symbol of progress and reform, and by others as a soft pushover who isn't doing enough
- Caitlyn begins distributing resources within Zaun, gaining the favor of Sevika in the process
- The war comes to an end, but Zaun and Piltover are still at arms
-Jayce's health is rapidly declining due to years of self neglect, but he tells no one
-Ekko goes looking for Vi
-Jinx disappears
- Caitlyn establishes trade and supply chains in Zaun
- Jayce plans to commit suicide, but is stopped by an explosion on the bridge
